I failed.
I failed to show that nature is worth preserving.
Yesterday the Senate voted to lift the moratorium on mining in the boundary waters watershed. A Chilean mining company will now begin mining for copper upstream of the Boundary Waters which will almost certainly end up poisoning the water and destroy the ecosystem. This is not the result of a single person, its the result of a group of corrupt profiteers, negligent "representatives" that vote with party and not with mind and of voters who selected these representatives in the first place. Is this the change you hoped for by casting your votes? I encourage everyone to keep an eye on the issues that come to vote and who you have elected to represent you on those issues.
I live in NY so I will speak to the people of NY. Every R in NY voted to rescind these protections. Look where you live. Half of those districts comprise areas containing or bordering precious natural areas like the Adirondacks, Finger lakes and Great lakes. Your representatives should be against this bill but that's not how they cast their vote. So next time, cast yours for someone that represents you(this isn't a post to convince you to shift to Dem, just get a rep that actually reps). I am also going to call out the one Dem that didn't vote at all...
This bill passed the house by 4 votes. 5 Dems (nationally) didn't vote at all...
I'm not highlighting the Senates since both NY senators voted no on this bill, but the senate just passed it by...2 Votes
You don't live in NY? Check where you live, check how your representative voted:

Harm is being done that you cannot undo and this is just the beginning...
