When Georgia hosts Tennessee State for its 2026 season opener, it’ll mark just the second time in their football history that the Bulldogs have faced an HBCU.

The first time, Georgia defeated Southern University of Louisiana, 48-6, on September 26, 2015. In the victory over the Jaguars, sophomore Nick Chubb rushed for 131 yards on just 15 carries and two touchdowns, and made a 24-yard touchdown reception.
