Indigo Lake in Cuyahoga Valley National Park

I went out with a friend to photograph dragonflies near my home in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I saw this Turkey Vulture fly and land in a tree. I moved in closer slowly to get a clear shot of the bird and not have the branch covering the body. Every now and then the bird would stretch the wings out and it showed the wing markings so beautifully. I waited until I thought I had the photo I wanted. My Sony A7RV with the Sony 200-600mm lens is my most used for nature photography. The combination let's me keep my distance to not disturb animals while still giving me great photos.

Indigo Lake, Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Moon Over Indigo Lake - I woke up early and headed to Indigo Lake to capture this panoramic shot of the moon setting behind it. I loved the way the mist sat above the lake and the surface of the water perfectly reflected the trees and sky.

Lake Erie on a boat to watch the 250th anniversary fireworks in Downtown Cleveland, Ohio.

My wife of 46 years and I went out on a charter boat on Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland, Ohio with a photography club, to watch fireworks celebrating the 250th anniversary of our country. It was a couple hour wait until the fireworks started. We got some pretty bad seats that were just wood slats, and her feet didn't touch the floor. She was sitting on an old ragged life vest trying to be more comfortable. I think she was just deep in thought, probably thinking, just let the show begin.

Whenever I travel abroad, I make it a mission to walk everywhere. I avoid transportation because I can't shoot from a subway! During my full day walk through cities, I'd go in and out of every interesting looking street so I could capture sides of a city no one expect residents see. This was one of the side streets of a side street and something about the simplicity and slowness of life captivated me. Rather than cars they ride bikes because everywhere is biking distance in a village of Japan, and everywhere is walking distance if you have the time
