Photog Delgado "Photography is the story I fail to put into words." - Destin Sparks Since then, not much has changed.

From childhood, there have been two things that I have been passionate about: photography and aviation. Being around planes, watching them fly, stirs something in me that I just can't explain. I also love being out in nature and have become a bit of a national park geek as well. As you can see, my photos reflect my love for these things.

Built in 1610 by the Spanish, San Miguel Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico is said to be the oldest standing church in the United States. Made from adobe (mud bricks), stucco was added in the middle 1900s that ended up damaging the original structure since Adobe needs to "breathe." After realizing the damage done by the stucco, in 2010, actions were made to correct the mistake by scraping off all the stucco, repairing the Adobe beneath, and recoating with traditional mud and earth plaster. Many battles were fought here over the years as well making this church rich with history.

Finally, next to the church also sits the oldest home in the United States. With the foundation built around the year 1200 by indigenous people, and the remaining structure added in 1646, this small pocket of Santa Fe holds the highest concentration of the oldest European built structures in the United States.

Periodically, I like to look through my pictures and relive events and places all over again through my photography. Who doesn't right? Last night I was doing just that and noticed I never shared quite a bit from our past road trips and other travels. For the sake of memories and to share some great places we have been, I am going to share what I missed over the next few days. These were taken in 2023 in the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. This park is often called the Badlands of North Dakota due to its similarities to the Badlands in South Dakota. I can see why Theodore Roosevelt loved this land and why he always came back to where his heart was home.

It's always a cool feeling to see your work in print, even if it’s just a straightforward shot to help advertise a great destination I visited (Valley Gem Sternwheeler). I bought a copy of Ohio Magazine off the newsstand today just to have a copy of my little feature in print, but I was also genuinely impressed by this magazine. Admittedly, I wasn't that familar with this magazine before this, but I am loving it. There are so many incredible local stories and travel ideas inside. I think they have themselves a new subscriber.
