I have been doing some street photography lately and posting it to my account on instagram. Follow me if you want to see what I'm up to. Last night I went to the fair and got some good shots that I will be sharing this week. I'll be taking photos at the No Kings protest in Augusta tomorrow. I hope to go to the state fair sometime this week and we are going to Maryland soon.

There is this thing I do that I think you will like. I call it documentary photography. I do it on the streets with strangers, but I also do it for clients. In their homes, on their vacations, or just a day in the life.
I create art out of everyday life. I hang out with families for a day or so, photographing the mundane chores and tasks they have done together a million times. Sometimes they take me to do things they have never done so I can record their discovery.
I capture their affection, excitement, frustration, and exhaustion. It is real and it can be messy, but it is always beautiful. That is what family is.
This is my most recent documentary session. Just a few days before Christmas. All the kids were home for the holiday. When they were younger, they attended St Mary's and made gingerbread houses at school every year. Now that they are older, they decided to do it as a family and invited me to be their documentarian.

I spent the weekend at Folly Beach celebrating my oldest son's graduation from college. Yay!!! Saturday morning, my camera and I had a date at the Charleston Farmer's Market in Marion Square. Kids and dogs are great subjects. Even better subjects are kids getting their pictures taken and these girls are adorable! I Should have taken the time to talk with their mom. I'm assuming they were trying to get a photo for Christmas cards. I'd love to see how they came out!
