I was looking to reconnect with family and friends and found they were in Cruces. I found out after I got here that my Great Grandmother lived here, in the Figueroa House on N. Main St. My Grandmother grew up here. in Dona Ana. My Mom brought me once, I visited my Grandmother on N. Main St. but I was too young to remember. Turns out I have a lot of family history here in Las Cruces. I fell in love with the wild, wild west!
I was born in East L.A. I grew up in Hollywood, The San Fernando Valley and Tokyo, Japan. I lived and worked full time as a model and actress in Tokyo and L.A. from 1984-1992. My first job in Japan I did the cover for Olive Fashion Magazine, where we opened Tokyo Disneyland in 1984! I went on location to Hong Kong, Guam, Okinawa, Osaka, Kyoto. Needless to say, I missed my High School Prom! I left school in 10th grade after I got my first contract in Japan. I always recommend for the kids to stay in school and graduate High School. It was 1 in a million chance that I was able to work and support myself since age 15. At 15, I moved from the Valley to Hollywood and got an Agent for modeling, Judith Fontaine. Her office tower was 2 blocks away from my apartment on Hollywood Blvd. I did Teen Magazine, Modern Salon Hair Magazine, Billboards and more. I was also employed by Central Casting were I worked as a union background talent on every show you can name in the 80’s. You can see me dance at a party with Al Pacino in “Frankie and Johnny” I was also featured in Tom Petty Free Fallin which has 52 million views today! I am still getting residuals from Saved by the Bell. I got to be a stand-in on Star Trek. That was epic. I decided acting wasn’t for me. Many factors. I had 3 Agents at once in L.A. in 88-89. Theatrical, Commercial and Print, Modeling Agents and I got JcPenny's Commercials, Wrigley’s Gum and more. I was not willing to compromise. My advice to everyone, never to compromise. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.
