Happy Easter! He is risen! As I have spent the past few days in the desert, I had the opportunity to photograph the new life growing, and blossoming in the desert areas around Mesquite, NV. The blossoms of the different cacti in the area were just amazing! A fun few days of photography, while visiting family and enjoying the beauty of this Easter season!

I took the opportunity the past few weekends to take my camera up to Grand Teton National Park and work on some photography. I had a great time trying to get close enough to photograph elk, bison, black bears, and birds of various species. One morning, I was on the sage flats between the Tetons and the Snake River and found a group of 8 or 9 bull elk. The bulls were still in their bachelor herds, but were all rubbed off and lookin' good for the rut. Here are a couple of my favorite shots. I was blessed with the opportunity to photograph the May 2022 Lunar Eclipse last night. I couldn't figure out why the full moon was a 1/4 moon when it came up. Then I remembered it was an eclipse! Very much enjoyed the warm evening and great scenery!

Last fall I had took the opportunity to go to Yellowstone National Park for 3 days at the beginning of November. I was blessed to find a lot of great photo opportunities while there and this was one of them. These bison were close to the road and allowed for some great contrasting photos.

Had the opportunity to spend a couple of days on a sharp-tailed grouse lek (breeding ground) this weekend. Such a fun time of year to photograph birds. These birds 'dance' with their wings out, heads towards the ground and stomp their feet very rapidly. Then they jump into the air and fly several feet above the ground, land and do it again.

Often times when I travel with my family or to a conference, I search the area I will be staying in for a little park or area where I can spend the hours before everyone else gets up in the morning with with my camera.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend a conference in San Francisco. While there, I stumbled upon a little hillside park; Ina Donna Coolbrith park. While there, I had the opportunity to get some photos of several birds.
I will share others later, but some of my favorites were these bushtits. The female has a very vibrant yellow eye, while the males have a dark eye. This is a new bird for me. These were a couple of my favorites of the male and female bushtits.
Beautiful little birds in the middle of the big city! Next time you are in a big city, spend some time in these little parks, they truly are gems!

I have been putting off posting from my photography page, but here goes. I am starting this page to try to promote some of my photography. I have always just posted, but felt like I needed a better reach. Hopefully this will help me do just that. Spent the weekend around Lava Hot Springs, ID. Had some wonderful opportunities. Here are some of them.

These first three are of a badger hunting for squirrels along the road. He would go down a hole, come out and run to the next hole. Didn’t care that we were parked just a few feet away!
