Florida’s birds are amazing! We were blessed to see many and I even got a few ‘life birds’ (new species to me). Here are some fun photos as we traveled through Florida and Georgia to support our oldest son, as he graduated from Fort Benning, Army Infantry. We are sure proud of him!

Reptiles are always so fun to see and to photograph! Usually snakes and small lizards, but recently I was blessed with gopher tortoises and alligators! Loads of fun and always exciting. The tortoise was found while looking for nesting birds, the alligator while talking to some local fishermen about their fishing. Each a unique experience that will stay with me and will be fun to remember.

We were blessed to find what Emily was hoping for! She wanted to see a monkey while in Florida! They were introduced in the 1930’s and have spread. Silver Springs was an amazing place to visit! We saw the monkey, alligators, loads of birds, but no manatees. But, what a great o derail trip!

I love visiting Yellowstone National Park! It has been a destination for my family for as long as I can remember. My dad took us as a family, and then moving to Wyoming, we have gone many times. Then, I was blessed to get a job in Wyoming and have been able to take students to Yellowstone for the past 16 years. Over that time, I have gained a love for the American Bison — they truly are majestic, they have their own individuality, with different “hair styles”, and they are amazing to see during the rut! We saw loads of them on this trip, as usual, and I was blessed to get these photos out of the bus window as we waited for others to cross in front of us.
