While I'm all for beautiful poses, sunset lighting, bokeh, and all that other photography stuff....Getting true to life pictures is FAR more fun.
Adi is engaged to Tyler. I've known her before she started Kindergarten(?), let's just say for a majority of her life thus far.
As you can tell, Tyler is in the Army. I asked if he'd take is hat (Cover) off, his response, "I can't take it off outside while in uniform". That says it all, God's Speed Mr Hood in your service to a Grateful Nation.
Kendra and Michael you are blessed, thank you for allowing to be part of an incredible day.

Even though I'm the father of three, I'm reminded every time I take delivery pictures what a mother goes thru bringing a new life into the world. But I'm also reminded of the joy when the world greets that new life.
I guess this is one of my last Senior photo shoots and it couldn't have gone any better. Lacy kept saying if Vet school didn't work out she knew she'd be able to model. Tracie was of a different opinion.
This is my next to last wedding and I couldn't be more pleased with how the pictures have turned out so far.
Gina and David were amazing fun to work with and the wedding was beautiful in spite of the weather.
The Last Pictures
I'm taking a break from Photography. This has been a difficult decision, but a necessary one. I love photography and the creative outlet but there's only so much time in a day.
Let's not say goodbye but Until We Meet Again....

The past few weeks have been controlled chaos, more chaos than control. Several senior sessions, a wedding or two or three, broadcasting games for a couple of schools, Church (sermon prep, visits, etc), and regular stuff with family.
Most days have been 14-16 hours, I keep telling myself I'll take a break. SO, I'm sitting in City Church waiting on the storm to pass to take pictures of my favorite niece named Hannah before her wedding this afternoon and editing pictures since I have a moment.
I guess I could complain, most of the above sounds like a complaint but truthfully I look back and I'm humbled at the people's lives I've had the honor of sharing in just for a moment. We are connected by the normal common threads in life but it's the choice to be IN the moment with a person or family that impacts the most.
I take pictures, MANY people in our area take pictures and they are incredibly talented. Taking pictures is more than a click. I also pastor a small church in a small town where everyone knows me. And yet I'm still asked to take a picture or officiate a wedding or funeral. You are in a moment, a single shared experience that will live on in the future. Who knows, maybe some of my pictures or something I've said will outlive me.
Thank you all for the opportunity.
It was warm in the Gym, not sure who sweated the most, me, Raylee, Roy or Rhonda. But, I think the results speak for themselves.
Although it was brutally cold, everyone was great during the entire process. It was an honor to watch these two exchange vows and know it was meant to be.
The last month has been incredibly busy but very rewarding. I've been able to be the Videographer at a wedding (at first), take pictures at St Louis Zoo & Forest Park (another first) and take senior pictures of a young man whose family I've been shooting (photo term, not literal shooting) for years.
It's been busy and my calendar is filling up. I don't do a lot of advertising or "senior cadets" (I probably should), SO if you want to get hold of me Please text me at 573-986-8927 or email at [email protected]. I've had issues receiving messages thru Facebook.

This is video from rehearsal and from one of the GoPro cameras that I setup on a window ledge, which was accidentally set on time-lapse and not video. SO, it took a picture every 3 seconds during the entire ceremony (approx 1,900).
Fantastic Day at St Louis Zoo and Forest Park.
Lacie may have a career...Thank you Ann and Betsy for holding the flash.
Joey and Taylor were a blessing to watch during the wedding. Somehow, even with every present they made it about their relationship with each other and with God.
Thank you Jordan Hill and Jason Hill for allowing me to be part of your perfect day.
This was a fun shoot, Savanah Shaffer and Megan Shrum were a big help. Thank you Michael and Lori Mccormick for being patient.
Nothing like softball before Prom.

Ok, every good picture requires a setup. I appreciate when someone allows me to test a shot or new lighting setup. Besides, Kristin Smith likes her picture taken, John Smith not so much BUT he's very patient....mostly.
Thanks to Stacey O Hare Vandeven and Mary Ann McCain, otherwise know as "Test" subjects.
A beautiful day for a beautiful couple. Thank you Kristin Smith and John Smith for including me in an incredible day.
PS Thank You Mary Ann McCain, a most excellent Second Shooter.
I think I have pictures of Alyssa playing ball, riding horses thru her High School years, makes me feel old. Mason and Tessa were amazing helpers, Nolyn was kept busy with a basketball....
Two years old, it doesn't seem possible. But here she is!!
This is my brother and sister in law & their beautiful baby Adley, who's too cute for words.
An incredible day for two incredible people. Thank you for giving me the privilege of taking the pictures.
Bekah and I have an amazing time with Kristin and John.
Thank you for making us a part of your journey.
