🌱In my last post I recounted a sermon about a dream in acorn form, and how we are to steward and grow along with that dream, because in time, it will become a mighty oak. 🌳
When God speaks a Word over our lives, the enemy will send opposition. Sometimes it’s so much opposition that we doubt the Word and whether it will ever come to pass. If there is no option other than obedience to God’s Word, then there would be no reward for obedience. Hence, we are given choice. We are rewarded for obedience when we obey regardless of opposition. We must remember that God’s Word holds all power! Does Satan hold power? No! Satan, the liar, only holds the power we AGREE to give him.
In this sermon, Bill read from 1 Samuel 30:6, which tells the story of David and his mighty men, whose belongings, women, and children were taken by the Amalekites. David strengthens himself in the Lord, asks God if he should pursue the raiding party, and if he will recover what was taken. God tells him to pursue the raiding party and tells him that he will succeed in the rescue. Some of the men are too exhausted to help in the rescue, but David commands that they share in the plunder, anyway.
When we are exhausted, we need to strengthen ourselves in the Lord, then inquire of God. Bill explained that he reads Psalms until he finds what resonates with him, and he finds strength in what is written there. We are invited to co-labor with God. Everyone has a role in the Kingdom of God. Once we have recovered our strength, we have breakthrough to the glory of God, and He restores twice what was taken. 💪
