Here she comes down the driveway at high speed on her way to Balch Lake! Don't know where she lays her eggs but 60-70 days from now, (depending on where her nest is) we'll be on the lookout for the little ones coming down the driveway too. They look like little rocks at first until they move of course. Last year our dog alerted us of their arrival! Enjoy the lake Mama Painted Turtle. We will watch out for your little ones!

Cat Bird a calling! They are named Cat Birds because of their uncanny vocalization "mew" sounding just like a cat and they are closely related to the mockingbird!

This cormorant couple hung out on the fallen tree for most of the day, despite boaters and other water craft cruising by respectfully. Did you know their wing feathers allow water to filtrate through which helps them when diving. When you see them just hanging out with their wings spread, that's the process they use to dry them. Cool looking birds but unfortunately their p**p isn't good for our vegetation!
