These two kids were enjoying an evening bath and drink after dinner, and after noticing me from a distance, they carried on with their business. The last images though made me laugh. You can clearly see the elk "stink eye," telling me I've had my fun, taken plenty of images, now move the hell on (oh and take these damned birds with you). Or at least that's what I guessed the look on her face was telling me.

The very last one was about 2 miles from my house in Absarokee, as I was almost home she was heading back up into the trees. 4 bunches of elk in one 3+ hour evening drive, that was a first for me even in all of the years. Such a nice trip.

The Crazy Mountains are one of my favorite ranges and I rarely travel on the west side of them. Tonight I was reminded how rugged and stunning they are, from all sides.

One of my trips home was a pretty spectacular evening. I decided to go a more scenic route than usual, and the elk were all out having dinner. This first bunch of boys were letting me know they were the kings of their area. Then further down the road were another bunch enjoying the quiet evening sunshine.

Eaglets! These fuzzy-headed little creatures were under strict supervision of a parent in the nest, and I'm assuming the other parent a ways back on a branch. I could have watched them for an hour.

It's spring time in Southern Montana! ((yes, there's a lot of photos, but the little baby heads popping up were just too sweet not to share, from my 800 lens so we weren't disturbing their peace in any way)) Sure love this time of year!

Dan and I found our way up to East Rosebud Lake this weekend. A bit of a disappointment in that the lake it surrounded by private property and we couldn't find a way to get down to it, but the views are absolutely stunning. Just being there reminds me so much of Glacier Park, and the devistation from the floods is incredible.

Caught these guys in a spring snow storm a few weeks ago. The snow was so thick it was hard to focus on them at the distance I had between us. I didn't want to interrupt them, with whatever they were doing. But they still kept a good eye on me. So majestic.

Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love this gorgeous, sacred white buffalo. I search for him every time I'm to and from GFs. He blended in so perfectly with his surroundings this afternoon, that I was taking photos of one of his buddies, and looked over to see him napping not far away. Luckily I was equipped this time with my camera equipment and I had daylight on my side, so I was able to get a few close up profiles without disturbing their afternoon nap. And his buddies are so stinking huge! They're such majestic creatures.

Ok... so ya'll are just plain lazy. Critters getting spoiled in these warm temps. Damned banana-belt elk, napping on their little private land "Elk Runway" from place to place. 😂🤣
