Just going through some old photos and came across my best friend’s engagement session. Literally one of the most amazing and unique sessions I’ve ever done. Love you Ki and Kyle! 🖤🖤

I just got home from one of my favorite places ever.. my In-law’s cabin on the Frio River in Leakey, TX. I would love to do mini sessions here and I’m curious to know who would be seriously interested in booking if I did them here at the end of summer or beginning of fall? It’s about a 3 hour drive from Abilene, but tons of beautiful places to stay in the area and fun things to do with your family. All of these pictures are literally in the backyard of my in-laws, which is where I would be doing the sessions. Please comment and let me know if you’re SERIOUS about it so I can secure a weekend asap. I would only be able to book 8 sessions so it’s going to be first come, first serve.

Another great example of depth of field.. when you look at this, where do your eyes immediately go? They should go straight to my daughters hands where she had the ladybug. That’s because the ladybug is is focus and my daughter and background are blurred. Some people don’t prefer this type of photography and that is 100% ok! It’s just my personal preference… the more blur in the back/foreground, the better! 😍

A solid depth of field is typically what I aim for and what I prefer in most of my work (such as this photo of my beautiful girl). This means my subject is in focus while the foreground and background are blurred. This helps keep focus on the subject and doesn’t distract from what the photographer wants you to look at. Obviously, this isn’t ideal for every photo but a smooth, buttery background is always so beautiful. 🤌🏻😚
