Timing is everything.
Last Tuesday, Landon and I were shopping for a car (a last minute, impulse buy before my trip) and knew we wanted another Mazda. I don't take my purchasing power lightly...I knew for 100% certainty that I wanted to support Blair and Taylor if it was a possibility, and luckily it was (huge plus, he made the process too easy 🤪).
I have known Blair and Taylor since we were at McMurry University together, and since have had the privilege of photographing both newborn and maternity sessions for their growing family. This January they were told that their baby girl is battling a tumor growth in the center of her brain...absolutely unfathomable. So, supporting their family with my purchase wasn't even a question.
As we were waiting for my car purchase to be finalized, Taylor, Landon, and I were chatting about life and of course the conversation shifted to Brynn. Taylor was telling us how strong she has been through each and every procedure and treatment thus far, and that another planned surgical procedure was coming. Of course I was heading out of state the next day and getting back the very day they were leaving to DFW, but you know what...the timing was perfect. They were able to come by the studio right before they hit the road to DFW, and in just a few minutes we were able to capture Brynn's last moments with her "Tubie"...man, it was sweet.

Childhood Cancer...words I could never imagine uttering for my child, or anyone's child for that matter. I am beyond blessed to be able to capture milestones for families, and I am forever thankful for my background as a critical care nurse making these encounters more feasible for me to get through.
BIG prayers for Brynn through tomorrow, as she heads back for a procedure that will hopefully give her more comfort and freedom.
