This is what ‘real is perfect’ actually looks like in the first few days…

The way they curl into you without being placed there
The tiny stretches, the yawns, the way you’re still figuring each other out

No pressure to perform
No perfectly posed moments
Just your baby… exactly as they are

These are the moments that fade the fastest, and the ones you’ll ache to remember

Whether you’re in the hospital or at home, these first days, you deserve to remember it with timeless keepsake images!

I’ve opened a small number of newborn + first days sessions this season!

Message me “BABY” and I’ll send details 🤍

Real question.

When you look back at your photos,

do you want them to look perfect...
..or feel 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 🤍

Let’s be honest…

Most people don’t book photos because they “don’t have time”…
They don’t book because they’re waiting to feel ready.

When life slows down.
When they lose the weight.
When the kids are in a better phase.
When everything feels a little more… put together.

But here’s the truth I see every single day as a photographer and a mother of three:

The season you’re in right now?
This is the one you’re going to wish you could go back to.

The chaos.
The way they reach for you.
The tiny in-between moments you don’t even realize are slipping by.

Those aren’t things you recreate later.
Those are things you either capture… or you don’t.

So let’s be honest...
What’s actually holding you back right now?

Some sessions mean a little more 🤍

Getting to photograph these two wasn’t just another evening behind the camera… these are our people. The kind you’ve done life with, laughed with, and now get to watch step into something really beautiful together.

And moments like this? They matter more than people realize.

Most of my work centers on motherhood and the early days, but this type of love... the quiet, steady kind of love that everything else is built on. These are the moments I truly love to capture.

The way they look at each other. The ease. The excitement for what’s coming next… you can feel it in every frame.

I’m so honored I got to capture this season for you two 🤍

This is the kind of season that’s easy to live in, but just as easy to forget to document...

Until it’s already changed.

These are the photos you look back on later and realize just how much they mattered 🤍

No one really tells you what the first two weeks postpartum are like.

They’re beautiful, intimate, and spiritual.
They’re also intense, disorienting, tender, and full of questions you didn’t know you’d have.

Your milk comes in, and suddenly you’re weepy for no clear reason.
Your body feels unfamiliar.
Everyone has advice.
And you’re wondering if what you’re feeling is normal.

It is.

I put together a short, gentle guide for the first two weeks after birth. This guide was designed to help you slow down, trust yourself, and know when to rest or reach out for support.

It’s day-by-day in a loose way (because postpartum doesn’t follow rules), grounded in physiology, intuition, and a lot of compassion. It talks about things people don’t always warn you about… like the emotional wave that often comes when milk comes in, newborn sleep being unpredictable, and why you’re allowed to say no to advice that doesn’t fit.

This guide isn’t about doing postpartum “right.”
It’s about being held while you figure it out.

And it’s free on my website if you need it.

Birth is not a personality test.
It’s not a moral high ground.
And it’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all experience.

Yet we talk about it like it is.

“Hospital births can never be empowering.”
“Home births are always reckless.”
“Interventions mean failure.”
“Unmedicated is the gold standard.”

That kind of always/never language is not just wrong — it’s dangerous.

Birth is one of the most individualized physiological experiences a human can have.

Consider how many variables exist before labor even begins:
• medical history
• trauma history
• mental health
• support system
• access to care
• provider philosophy
• risk factors (real ones, not internet ones)
• intuition and personal values

And then add in:
• the personalities in the room
• how labor unfolds that day
• how the body and baby respond
• how information is communicated
• how supported (or pressured) someone feels

Two people can have the same gestational age, the same diagnosis, the same setting —
and still need completely different care.

That doesn’t mean one chose wrong.

It means birth is nuanced.

The most empowering birth isn’t defined by where it happened or what was used.

It’s defined by:
• informed decision-making
• respect
• autonomy
• feeling seen and supported
• care that adapts instead of forces

When we reduce birth to binaries, we silence people.

When we honor complexity, we create safer, more humane care.

If you’ve ever felt confused by the loud, polarized birth conversations online — you’re not broken.

You’re just noticing the nuance.

And if this perspective resonates, you’re my people. 🤍

Follow along — I talk a lot about the why behind birth, not just the opinions.
