This year was special with the black bears. I am up to about 20 sightings now. My friend Jerri and I and my husband and I have went out quite a few times and have not been disappointed. Persistence pays off!! Feeling blessed to have seen a few sow with cubs, a bear peel a tree, a bear cross right in front of me and watched an elk chase off a bear.

Ruffed Grouse hen in a dust bed.

They will create dust beds to maintain feather health and manage parasites. By scraping away dry dirt and rolling in the soil, they absorb excess oils and suffocate or dislodge mites and lice.
