5 successful poses for models

Don't know how best to stand in front of the camera to get a good shot? Use these techniques.
1. Stand facing the camera.
This is one of the easiest poses for models. A small life hack: look through the camera, then your gaze will be more mysterious.
2. Lean against the wall
This is one of the simplest, but at the same time interesting model poses. It is great for beginners. All that is required of you is to stand comfortably next to a wall and lean on it.
3. Use your hands
Very often, novice models do not know where to put their hands during a shoot. Well, there are many options. For example, touch your face with your fingers, straighten a strand of hair, run your hand over your neck. The main condition is that the movements should be smooth, and the hands should be relaxed.
4. Sit on a chair
Sitting poses are widely used in portrait photography.
Sit on the edge of a chair, slightly lean forward to the camera; you can cross your legs or sit half-turned. An important point: usually, in photography, the model should be relaxed. When using this pose on the contrary, it is important that all muscles are toned, the abs are slightly tense, and the back is straight.
5. If you ignored the photographer's advice and didn't get enough sleep the night before, you can make up for lost time at the shoot. Just kidding, of course. However, you can still lie on the floor, sofa or comfortably in the armchair while the professional creates unique pictures with you.

TOP 5 tips for shooting on the street
1. Your look and location
Sometimes the shooting location is selected to match the clothes and appearance of the model, and sometimes the location generates associations for which everything else is sought. Decide in advance where you want to make a photo shoot - in the historic city center or in the business district?
2. Time of shooting
There is a concept of "golden hour" for a street photo shoot. This is the time when the sun is very low above the horizon - usually before sunset or after sunrise.
3. Props and accessories
With the right outfit and props, even the simplest location works to create an atmospheric shot. For example, in this photo, the model is dressed in an elegant dress, which makes her even more feminine and a little mysterious, did you notice?)
4. Use the space around
Photography can be static (like in this picture) and dynamic (when the model is moving). Try to use the space so that the photographer can make shots with you from a better angle. To do this, I recommend to look at the recommendations for posing before shooting.
5. Immerse yourself in the shooting process

I like to plan everything to the smallest detail, but spontaneity makes life more interesting.
With this charismatic guy we quickly agreed on a photo shoot. We barely managed to get to the park before sunset, but still managed to catch the last gentle rays. We kept this day in the photos. Do you like them?

5 TIPS «How to prepare for a photo shoot in the studio»

Both the photographer and the model have to take certain steps on their part to get a successful result of a photo shoot in the studio.
Here are some rules of preparation:
1. Choose a studio in advance and book it.
2. Coordinate ideas (references) of shooting with the photographer: references are photos similar to those you want to get in the end. You can search for references: in Google-pictures, Pinterest or look for inspiration in movies.
3. Clothes and shoes. Clothes should be laconic, restrained shades (black, white, gray, brown and other neutral colors). Jackets, classic blue jeans, white shirts, T-shirts without images and prints look great in the photo. Shoes should be clean and suitable for the style of clothing. Ideally, if judging by your clothes it will be difficult to say what historical time it belongs to - such photos will look stylish even after decades.
4. Arrive at the place at least 20 minutes in advance: you will have time to change clothes if necessary, touch up your makeup, relax and tune in to a small adventure. Good mood is one of the requirements for a successful photo shoot.
5. From my own experience: it is better to book the studio for 2 hours. It will take about 20 minutes for the photographer and model to adapt to the new place, and the photographer will spend some time adjusting the light. In addition, some studios ask to vacate the room in 10-15 minutes to be able to prepare it for the next client.
