One year old. It sounds small, but anyone who’s lived through that first year knows it’s everything.

A first birthday session isn’t about the perfect cake smash. It’s about stopping time for a second and saying: we were here, and it was real. One day your child will hold this photo and see themselves loved before they even knew what love was.

Some sessions remind me exactly why I fell in love with my profession. This family came to me for their baby boy’s newborn photos and now they’re back, this time with a little girl. Being trusted again to document another chapter of their story means everything to me.

6-day-old newborn photography session at my studio in Riga and she slept through every single pose🤍

She came in at less than a week old, and everything just fell into place - all the setups, all the looks, calm and unhurried. Even with her two-year-old big brother running around the studio 😄

The parents followed my preparation guide and nailed the timing. That’s honestly what made it work.

Over 12 years of shooting newborns, I’ve developed a clear system - what to do before the session, how to time the feed and sleep, what to expect. I share all of it with my clients ahead of time. So when they walk through the studio door, there’s nothing to figure out. Just a quiet, warm experience and memories they’ll carry for the rest of their lives.

This series was photographed during my 1:1 training in my studio, and scroll to see what my student wrote me yesterday… because inside NewbornCode I teach not only posing, wrapping, lighting, and editing.

I also share my experience of working with families, building trust, creating connection, and giving clients an experience they will remember long after the session is over. Clients remember how you made them feel.

When photographers come to learn from me personally, they receive not only technical knowledge, but also a deeper understanding of service, communication, and client experience as a whole.
