Bananas are a staple food here in Northern Tanzania. The sweet kind are eaten as snacks, but more prevalent are plantains, which are used in savoury dishes.

Growing, harvesting, and selling bananas isn't easy work, but this lady at the local market was more than happy to smile for a photo in the hot sun.
