İstanbul wss different, Tarlabaşı was different. The world was different.

A piece of Istanbul in Paris, taken in November 2014.

More precisely, a reflection of the Grand Palais' steel & glass dome on a huge plexiglass photo of the Sultanahmet mosque.

I generally don't like Plexi but this time, it was such a symbol to see both iconic locations intertwined that I was thankful for plexiglass.

❓ What's a "han"?

It's an old inn or caravanserai where travelers could rest and recover from the day's journey.

❓ What is so special about this one?

Büyük Valide han is the largest historical han in Istanbul.
It was built mid 17th century, during the Ottoman Empire.

We used to be able to reach its roofs & enjoy a unique view over the city.

You'll be able to discover that place from top to bottom & reach a hidden place with a spectacular view.
