Spending time with the Women’s squad during the Spring racing block in Europe was nothing short of an amazing and insightful experience.
I love telling African stories through my artistic expressions; and my biggest inspiration is the privilege to document history as it unfolds.

I’m equally grateful for the continued support from Team Amani as we push to change the faces/phases of global cycling, and the athletes who’ve allowed me to be part of this amazing family brought together by a dream.

Team AMANI was founded with the goal of showing what’s possible when athletes from the region are given meaningful opportunities. This is the story of the team’s first season in the world of racing, and the very first steps towards trying to reach the top of the sport.

“Ndirathimirwo” (Was I not blessed)
Njuguna manages to squeeze a smile 60 hours into his 72-hour tree hugging challenge at the heart of Iten town, Elgeyo Marakwet county. The long distance runner who earns most of his income from massaging fellow athletes, embarked on this crazy challenge in an effort to raise awareness around Ending Gender Based Violence and Antidoping.
His strong will and belief saw him hit 72 hours with his fingers clasped around a tree, with a basic diet of glucose water.
Most people tried to wrap their head around the phenomenon, but one thing it did, was bring life to this slow town for 3 days and nights before everyone went back to their lives.
A day later, a few metres away, another tree was on the receiving end of another tree hugger.
