While filming this, there came a moment when I wanted to lower my camera…
Because some moments don’t want to be captured — they just want to be felt.
Inside this caravanserai, the light touches the stones differently.
As if the silence of the people who stood here centuries ago is still hidden between these walls.
The sound of the ney, the echo of the stone walls, the movement of the white robes…
At some point, you stop feeling like the person filming, and start feeling like someone simply living inside the moment.
Every turn of the dervishes looked different under the light.
Dark ancient stone walls on one side, endless white movement on the other…
It honestly felt like I was watching the visual form of peace itself.
I’ve filmed in many beautiful places across Cappadocia and experienced countless atmospheres…
But this is one of those places whose feeling stays with you long after you leave. 🤍
