Thought I’d post this on my dad’s photography page as some of you might be interested in it! Some of you might know Ted! ♥️

This is my brother Happywhale floating about with a s***m whale! 🐋

The second interview with him is out! 🎉

My first interview with him was created 2.5 years ago. I figured it was time to create an updated video with all the progress Happywhale has achieved in the last years.

In this interview, Ted shares an update about the important work Happywhale is doing tracking whales around the world, how successful it’s been in aiding whale science and inspiring stories infused from a lifetime of being a whale watcher.

Other topics include: Ted’s spiritual connection to whale: I always love to infuse spirituality into a topic and although Ted is a scientist, it is truly his love for whales and his love of nature (which our beloved parents taught us) that fuels his work.

Stories: Ted shares inspiring stories to give much needed hope for the state of the world, the ocean and the incredible cetaceans we call whales.

In big sister style, I thought I would get creative and wove in some childhood and family photos. I thought some of you would get a kick of seeing younger kid photos of us. (Yes, there was a time when I towered over Ted, but that day rapidly vanished when he hit the age of 13. Since then, I have needed binoculars to see the top of his head! 🤣)

Words cannot express how PROUD I am of Ted for his success with Happywhale!

Aloha friends & fans of my fathers photography: I don’t know if you knew this but my brothers work with Happywhale has become quite popular! I thought I would share this post here as some of you might be interested in it. I bet many of you know my brother from past safaris too! Who knows my brother Ted here? ♥️

Btw, I was planning on releasing this interview sooner, but my home island of Kaua’i Hawaii has been incredibly slammed with a hurricane a little over a week ago. It’s been quite a lot to be present with, to say the least. 🌀

🐍 Aloha friends, I know I haven’t been posting on here much. My intention with starting this photography page for my father was to capture his brilliant wildlife photography, with all of the hard work, love and care he put into his love for the Earth and her creatures. 🦁

It’s been a fascinating process of my life becoming extremely full in the best possible way with the mermaid, ocean conservation world I’m in, plus my 🧜‍♀️ & underwater photography portrait biz - check out my pages 𝕋𝕒𝕣𝕒 ℂ𝕠𝕪𝕠𝕥𝕖 🧜‍♀️ & kauai.mermaid.experience & not having a lot of extra time to go through his slides and post. 📸

I think also, there’s been a deeper layer of healing around my father’s sudden death 4 years ago, which is a great thing! You see, for years, I’ve been pretty traumatized by my mothers, fathers death & packing up our family house all within 9 months of one another. It was a too much to process and it’s taken many years & deep therapy to find peace with it all. 💔

To be coming back to myself again & have this rich 🧜‍♀️ world to be in is incredibly beautiful and I know my parents would both be happy to know this. They wouldn’t want me to be caught in grief for years.

They would want me to LIVE MY LIFE, as they did in such a full hearted manner! 🎉

I think part of me has also been reluctant to sort it through my father‘s images as I’m finally starting to get my feedback on the ground after years of feeling like my heart was torn out due to their deaths.

So, this is my explanation for why I have not been here much. 🌹

I had the idea recently of creating an online platform for all of my dad‘s photography, which I still might do sometime, but we shall see when this happens!

I just thought I’d share why I’ve been remiss on this page.

On another note, this photo captures my dad‘s spirit perfectly, don’t you think? His exuberance for life and love of the natural world inspired, countless people, and I’m so grateful he was my father in this lifetime.

May we all love fully for a short time we are here.
