Moon Mitosis

What's happening to the Moon? Here you see the full moon's reflection on a glass building. As moon sails in its path the reflection changes shape. Sometimes it becomes elongated, sometimes doubled. This reflection caught my eye and I wanted to tell a story with it. As the Moon's reflection moved from one window to the other, it looked like it was going through mitosis.

Ay'a ne oluyor? Burada dolunayın cam bir binadaki yansımasını görüyorsunuz. Ay yörüngesinde ilerledikçe camdaki yansıması şekil değiştiriyor. Bazen üzüyor, bazen çift görünüyor. Bu yansıma dikkatimi çekti ve bununla bir hikaye anlatmak istedim. Ay'ın yansıması bir pencereden diğerine geçerken sanki mitoz bölünme geçiriyormuş gibi görünüyordu.

Super Blue Sturgeon Moon rising. It was hiding behind the clouds at first, but later appeared, and was shining brightly. Blue Moon is just a term, and the moon does not appear blue at all. If there are two full moons in a month, the second full moon is called Blue Moon. But here it is not the case. If there are four full moons in a season, the third full moon is called Blue Moon, and here it is the case.

Tonight's Crescent Moon setting over Bursa. Venus and Jupiter were also shining above the moon but I couldn't include them in the frame. Moon was separated by 10° from Venus. Tomorrow's moon will be much closer to Venus and Jupiter. Remember to look at the sky!

Bu akşamın hilali Bursa üzerinden batarken. Venüs ve Jüpiter de Ay'ın hemen üzerinde parlıyordu ama onları kadraja dahil edemedim. Ay ile Venüs arasında yaklaşık 10° açıklık vardı. Ay, yarın Venüs ve Jüputer'e çok daha yakın olacak. Gökyüzüne bakmayı unutmayın.

Hunter's Moon on 20 October 2021. October full moon is called Hunter's Moon because deer are hunted in October. Including a deer in the photo would be perfect but all I have is a dry tree branch that looks a bit like deer antlers.
