Lifestyle, fashion and portrait photographer from İstanbul Turkey He was born in Turkey, Rize (19.02.1982) . He spend his childhood years in Rize.

While he was studying at Yeditepe University in the department of International Relations he started to being interested in photography. After he graduated from the university, he started to travel most of the Anatolian cities to sustain his fathers construction company business. During these travels he started to capture that ‘moment’s of various cultures and appearances, which Turkey has a lot.

In 2011, he started to be got known on social media after his first project, Samsung ‘’Durdur Zamanı’’. In the same year, he launched ‘’Sefa Yamak Photography & Social Media’’ agency. In this boundless digital word, he creates marketing strategies for the corporate trademarks from all around the world with managing all the communication process from the very beginning until the end. In 2015, he composed all the social networking trends together in the name of and he brought something new to our lives with holding the Turkey’s first concept Instagram competition. While he is running his personal projects with the motto of ‘’ Photography is the only language that can be understood in every corner of the world’’ , in the same time he keep continue to share his technic and esthetic based experiences with his followers via giving instructions and organizing workshops.

19 Şubat 1982’de Rize’de doğar. Çocukluk yıllarını Rize’de geçirir. Yeditepe Üniversitesi Uluslararası İlişkiler bölümünde okurken, amatör olarak fotoğrafçılıkla ilgilenmeye başlar. Üniversiteden sonra, babasının inşaat işini devam ettirmek üzere Anadolu’nun ceşitli şehirlerini gezmeye başlar. Bu seyahatler esnasında, Türkiye’nin ck ceşitli kültürlerini ve yüzlerini icinde barındıran “an”ları yakalamaya başlar.

2011 yılında ilk dijital projesi olan Samsung “Durdur Zamanı” ile sosyal medya üzerinden adını duyurmaya başlar. Aynı yıl, “Sefa Yamak Photography & Social Media” ajansını kurar. Dijitalin sınırsız dünyasında, iletişim sürecini baştan sona yöneterek, Türkiye ve Dünya genelinde bir çok kurumsal markaya pazarlama stratejileri oluşturur.

2015 yılında, sosyal mecraların hayatımıza kattığı sanat trendlerini, adı altında toplar ve ilk konsept instagram sergisini açarak, Türkiye’de bir ilke imza atar.

“Fotoğraf, Dünya’nın her koşesinde anlaşılan tek dildir.” mottosu ile, bir yandan kişisel projelerini yürütürken, diğer yandan hem teknik hem estetik anlamda oluşturduğu deneyimlerini, verdiği ceşitli eğitim ve seminerler aracılığı ile tüm takipcileriyle paylaşmaya devam etmektedir.

Bir portre, sadece fotoğrafı çekilen kişiyi değil, fotoğrafçıyı da anlatır.

Yıllardır peşinde olduğum şey kusursuz bir portre değil; bir insanın yüzünde saklı hikâyeye biraz daha yaklaşabilmek.

Bu arayış beni dünyanın farklı sokaklarına, şehirlerine ve coğrafyalarına götürdü. Yol boyunca umut gördüm, hüzün gördüm, sertlik gördüm. Samimiyet, bilgelik, kırılganlık ve bazen de objektif karşısındaki o kısa çekingenlik hâlini…

Fotoğrafta gördüğümüz şey ile hissettiğimiz şey her zaman aynı değildir. Bazen asıl hikâye, kadrajın içinde değil; o yüze bakarken içimizde oluşan duygudadır.

Bu kare de o yolculuk sırasında karşılaştığım ve hafızamda yer eden yüzlerden biri.

Belki kusursuz portreyi hâlâ bulamadım.

Ama aramaya devam ediyorum.

A portrait tells a little about the photographer, not just the person being photographed.

For years, I have been searching not for the perfect portrait, but for a way to get a little closer to the story hidden within a face.

That search has taken me through streets, cities, and cultures around the world. Along the way, I encountered hope, sadness, strength, sincerity, wisdom, vulnerability, and sometimes the brief hesitation that appears in front of a camera.

What we see in a photograph is not always the same as what we feel. Sometimes the real story is not inside the frame, but in the emotions it leaves behind.

This image is one of those encounters that stayed with me long after the shutter was released.

Perhaps I still haven’t found the perfect portrait.

But I keep searching.

The most important point of my portraits is the eye contact which tells you what is hidden behind. Strongest ones come with the strongest emotions. I think that’s the reason I choose women portraits for my new collection, woman as the owner of strongest feelings by just being a woman. Some screams with the fear while the other tells you the greatest love stories; Some cries with the memory of their losses, some sings the happiest songs with the heartbeats. Each wrinkle around their eyes can be a first line of a thousand different life stories. That’s the power of my portraits capturing one’s the purest aspects coming trough the eyes.

For over 20 years, I have been taking portraits from all over the world, by walking on the streets which have been walked by thousands of people with thousands of emotions for ages; country by country, city by city… I

‘u kurarken aklımda tek bir şey vardı:

Sadece içerik üretmek değil,
hafızada kalan işler üretmek.

Belki de bunun sebebi, hayatımın büyük kısmının kameranın arkasında geçmiş olması.

Kimi zaman Hindistan sokaklarında,
kimi zaman sabaha karşı biten setlerde,
kimi zaman da “bir kare daha alalım” diye ekibi yoran tarafta. :)

20 yılı geçti bu işin içinde.
Ve zamanla şunu fark ettim:

İnsan sadece fotoğraf çekmiyor,
bakış biriktiriyor.

Gördüğü her yer, çalıştığı her set, tanıştığı her hikâye insanda bir iz bırakıyor.

Bugün hâlâ beni en çok heyecanlandıran şey;
iyi ışık, güçlü hikâyeler ve gerçek duygu.

Bir de galiba biraz kaos. :)

Bu fotoğraf da bütün o yolculuğun içinden küçük bir “merhaba” olsun.

For more than 20 years, this industry has shaped the way I see the world.And over time, I’ve come to understand that photography is not only about capturing images —it is about collecting perspectives.

Every place, every production, and every story leaves its mark.

What continues to inspire me most today isbeautiful light, compelling storytelling, and authentic emotion.

And maybe, a little bit of creative chaos along the way.

Her neye direniyorsanız, o hale gelirsiniz. Öfkeye karşı direnirseniz, her zaman sinirlenirsiniz. Üzüntüye karşı direnirseniz, daima üzgün olursunuz. Acı çekmeye karşı koyarsanız, daima acı çekersiniz. Karışıklığa karşı koyarsanız, her zaman kafanız karışır.

Bizler, orada oldukları için belirli durumlara karşı koyduğumuzu düşünürüz, ama aslında onlara direndiğimiz için oradadırlar.

STORY OF W A I T I N G : Kars is one of our eastern cities that mostly known city of white. The city that is under the snow for 3-4 months every winter makes living the harshest in Anatolia. Even so when the snow starts the city becomes land of a fairy tale. The city center with its architectural texture, frozen Lake Çıldır and the ancient city of Ani which is thousands of years old, are the most important places you can see here. The best way is going to Kars is take an epic journey by Eastern Express Train.

On the first day of my journey to Kars where I went with dreams of a white city. Unfortunately, the snowless streets disappointed me. However, when I woke up next morning a surprise was waiting for me. During the night it had snowed heavily, and the city had a white cover.

I met with this man during my trip in Kars. He is sled rider on frozen lake for years. Despite the freezing cold of the harsh winter on Lake Çıldır, he is always ready to work, and he makes joyful trips for the visitors. The cold was so ingrained that the lines on his blackened face deepened even more. You can listen to him hours his most detailed and entertaining stories of Kars.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION:
The best portraits tell a little about the photographer, not just the subject. I have been in search of the “perfect portrait” for many years. It means long hours, days, years even kilometers. I saw hope, sadness, hardness, intimacy, sincerity and wisdom on people’s faces but sometimes also embarrassment as I wandered in streets and neighborhoods around the world. In photography, it is difficult to reflect the essence of what you see for there is always much more that is felt and I've always tried to capture the essence of the many special faces and people I've crossed paths with. In this collection, I've gathered the most impressive people and faces I've came across while I was searching for the perfect portraits.
This collection will finally have 20 1:1 portraits.
