‘Morning Light in Al Disah’

The first light of day slowly reached the sandstone formations of Al Disah Valley, illuminating the narrow gap between the towering cliffs.

Standing among these ancient rock formations at sunrise, watching the sun emerge over the desert landscape, was one of those quiet moments that makes every early start worthwhile.

‘Baharın Karla Buluştuğu Yer’

Haziran ayının ilk günlerinde bile Kaçkarlar’ın yükseklerinde kış hâlâ hükmünü sürdürebiliyor.

Bulutlar Tatos Dağları’nın sivri zirveleri arasında süzülürken, aşağıdaki vadiler yavaş yavaş yeşile bürünüyor. Yamaçları kaplayan papatyalar, vadinin içinden kıvrılan dereler ve kısa süren yayla mevsiminin başlangıcı…

Doğu Karadeniz’den kısa ama unutulmaz bir an.

🇺🇸 ‘Where Spring Meets the Snow’

Even in early June, winter still lingers high in the Kaçkar Mountains.

As the clouds drift across the jagged peaks of the Tatos Range, the valleys below slowly turn green. Wild daisies cover the hillsides, streams carve their way through the landscape, and life returns to the highlands for another short season.

A fleeting moment from the Eastern Black Sea region of Türkiye.

‘Layers of Time’

Standing in front of millions of years of geology.

The sandstone towers of Al Disah rise through layers of dust and atmospheric haze, creating a landscape where distance becomes almost impossible to judge. A place that feels less like a desert and more like another planet.

This image was captured during a photography expedition in Saudi Arabia organized by my dear friend Aytek Çetin 🙌🏻. Huge thanks to him for guiding us to this incredible location and, quite literally, becoming part of the composition.

Swipe to the second image for the full panoramic view of this extraordinary landscape.

‘Zamanın Katmanları’

Milyonlarca yıllık jeolojik oluşumların karşısında durmak…

Al Disah’ın kumtaşı kuleleri, tozlu atmosfer ve üst üste dizilen katmanlar içinde yükseliyor. Mesafeyi algılamanın zorlaştığı, çölden çok başka bir gezegeni andıran bir manzara.

Bu eşsiz manzaranın tam panoramik görünümü için ikinci kareye göz atmayı unutmayın.

‘A Sense of Scale‘

A quiet morning in the NEOM Mountains.

Layer upon layer, the landscape slowly emerged through the morning haze. One lone figure crossing the dunes was enough to reveal the immense scale of this remarkable place.

‘Roots and Starlight’

Three frames from a quiet summer night under the Milky Way.

Standing beside the lake, surrounded by old weathered trees, I watched the galaxy slowly reveal itself across the sky. No wind, no noise, just calm water, distant lights and countless stars overhead.

Some nights don’t need much. Just a dark sky and a reason to look up.

‘Al Disah After Dark’

As darkness settled over Al Disah, the sandstone towers slowly disappeared into the night while the Milky Way rose above the valley.

This image combines two moments from the same location and the same night. The Milky Way was captured before dawn, while the landscape was photographed during the first light of blue hour from the exact same spot.

Standing among these ancient rock formations beneath a sky filled with stars was a reminder of how small we really are.

Cracked earth in the foreground, shadowed ridges in the middle and towering sandstone formations above.

One frame, countless layers.

This is what drew me most to Al Disah - the sense of depth, scale and geological history written across the landscape.

‘Between Shadow and Light’

As the first light of day broke through the sandstone walls of Al Disah, the valley revealed itself for only a fleeting moment.

A brief meeting of shadow, stone and light.
