"It was truly an honor to be part of this documentary and celebrate James Foley's heroic spirit and selfless compassion. James was the ultimate journalist who gave his life to ensure that the unedited truth was reported to the world. We are extremely grateful to the Academy for this nomination and hope the attention brings more people to this important film.” - J. Ralph & Sting

Today is world photography day and this image is testament to the power of photography to engage people and encourage action. As a father of a small boy, like many, this appalling image made me pay attention. I'm hoping and praying for all the people who are caught up in this horrendous situation and hope that their misery can be brought to end very soon. Let's hope that the governments, United Nations and leaders with the power to influence events are impacted by this and work together for a solution. Picture: Aleppo Media Centre

I spent a weekend in Taipei recently and went to visit the iconic Taipei 101, the worlds fifth tallest building, that stands a massive 508 metres tall. It was the tallest building in the world from 2004 when it was first completed until 2010 when it was overtaken by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It's q…

For those of you who didn't see the news overnight, there was a bombing in central Bangkok. I'm sure in due course more details will come out, but what I've heard so far is that there is at least 19 dead and 120 or more injured, apparently the bomb was possibly detonated on the back of a motorbike i…

If you have followed me for a while you will know how much of a fan I am of Zoriah. Here is another piece of his great body of work on Pripyat in the Ukraine, a city that was abandoned when the Chernobyl nuclear reactor went into melt down in 1986.

The entire city of Pripyat, 49,000 people, was evacuated when the nuclear reactor melted down on April 26th, 1986. The city was left as is, and has been undergoing a melancholy process of decay ever since.
