First proper long run of the Frankfurt marathon done steady 30km @ 3:47/km avg.

Glad to be back to colder temperatures after spending the last three weeks in the heat of Portugal and Spain. Really enjoyed working on my tan out there but absolutely hated the extreme sweating and overheating that came along with running in >+35 degree heat.

Crazy how much difference the temperature can make on the effort required to run faster paces. I was struggling to run faster than 3:50s for reps in Spain and literally a day later in colder environment I’m running faster paces at a steady effort for my long run.

Frankfurt Marathon (Week 2/12)
First week of decent mileage and sessions in a while. I will be lying if I said it was easy and smooth sailing. The humidity and heat here are absolutely no joke. All I can say that I’m am beyond happy that I don’t have to race in these conditions 😅
