อีกหนึ่งรอบสำรวจที่จบลง แต่การติดตามยังคงเดินหน้าต่อไป

การสำรวจภาคสนามรอบนี้เป็นตัวแทนข้อมูลช่วง "ฤดูมรสุม" และเป็นรอบสำรวจสุดท้ายของปี 2569 ซึ่งถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งช่วงเวลาสำคัญในการเก็บข้อมูลเพื่อเปรียบเทียบการเปลี่ยนแปลงของแหล่งหญ้าทะเลตลอดทั้งปี ทั้งในด้านพื้นที่ปกคลุม และองค์ประกอบของชนิดพันธุ์ของหญ้าทะเล

ข้อมูลจากการสำรวจในแต่ละฤดูกาลจะถูกนำมาใช้เพื่อติดตามและทำความเข้าใจการเปลี่ยนแปลงของระบบนิเวศหญ้าทะเลในระยะยาว รวมถึงช่วยสนับสนุนการติดตามสถานภาพและการอนุรักษ์แหล่งอาศัยที่สำคัญของพะยูนในพื้นที่ชายฝั่งอันดามันต่อไป

Another survey completed, but the monitoring continues.

This field survey represents the "monsoon-season" monitoring period and the final survey round of 2026. It marks another important period of data collection for comparing seasonal changes in seagrass meadows throughout the year, including seagrass coverage and species composition.

Data collected across different seasons will be used to monitor and better understand long-term changes in seagrass ecosystems, while supporting continued assessment and conservation of critical dugong habitats along the Andaman coast.

🌱ยังคงเดินหน้าติดตามสถานภาพหญ้าทะเลระยะยาวด้วยวิธี Permanent Transect ที่ปรับปรุงจากแนวทางของ เพื่อทำความเข้าใจการเปลี่ยนแปลงของแหล่งอาศัยสำคัญของพะยูนอย่างต่อเนื่อง

ในปี 2569 โครงการได้ดำเนินการสำรวจหญ้าทะเลระยะยาว รอบที่ 2 ซึ่งเป็นตัวแทนของช่วงเปลี่ยนผ่านจากฤดูร้อนสู่ฤดูมรสุม โดยดำเนินการสำรวจในพื้นที่ต่าง ๆ ดังนี้

• 17–22 พฤษภาคม 2569 จังหวัดตรัง (เกาะลิบง และเกาะมุก)
• 1 มิถุนายน 2569 จังหวัดสตูล
• 26–28 มิถุนายน 2569 จังหวัดกระบี่

With support from , the continues its long-term seagrass monitoring program using a permanent transect method adapted from to better understand changes in critical dugong habitats.

In 2026, the project completed the second round of long-term seagrass monitoring, representing the transition from the dry season to the southwest monsoon. Surveys were conducted at the following locations:

• 17–22 May 2026 – Trang Province (Libong Island and Muk Island)
• 1 June 2026 – Satun Province
• 26–28 June 2026 – Krabi Province

🌊 ระหว่างวันที่ 17–21 กรกฎาคม 2569 กลุ่มอาสาสมัครพิทักษ์ดุหยง ได้ร่วมลงพื้นที่ สำรวจประชากรพะยูนและจัดทำฐานข้อมูลภาพถ่ายเพื่อระบุตัวตนรายบุคคล (Photo ID) ณ เกาะลิบง จังหวัดตรัง ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในแหล่งอาศัยที่สำคัญของพะยูนในประเทศไทย

💙 การจัดทำ Photo ID เป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญในการติดตามพะยูนแต่ละตัว ช่วยให้สามารถศึกษาการกระจายตัว การใช้ถิ่นอาศัย การเคลื่อนย้าย และติดตามประชากรในระยะยาว อันเป็นข้อมูลพื้นฐานที่สำคัญสำหรับการวางแผนอนุรักษ์พะยูนอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

✨ ภารกิจครั้งนี้สะท้อนพลังของความร่วมมือระหว่างนักวิจัยและอาสาสมัคร ที่ร่วมกันเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม เพื่อสร้างองค์ความรู้และสนับสนุนการอนุรักษ์พะยูนและระบบนิเวศหญ้าทะเลของประเทศไทย

💙 เพราะการอนุรักษ์พะยูนและท้องทะเล ไม่ใช่หน้าที่ของใครคนใดคนหนึ่ง แต่เป็นความร่วมมือของพวกเราทุกคน

🌊 From 17–21 July 2026, the Dugong Guardian Volunteer Group conducted a dugong population survey and Photo Identification (Photo ID) at Libong Island, Trang Province, one of Thailand's most important dugong habitats.

💙 Photo ID is a valuable non-invasive monitoring technique that enables researchers to identify individual dugongs, track their movements, monitor habitat use, and assess population trends over time. These long-term data provide essential information for effective dugong conservation and management.

✨ This field survey reflects the strong collaboration between researchers and volunteers, working together to collect scientific data that support the conservation of dugongs and Thailand's seagrass ecosystems.

💙 Because protecting dugongs and our oceans is not the responsibility of scientists alone—it is a shared responsibility of us all.

🌊 กลุ่มอาสาสมัครพิทักษ์ดุหยง ร่วมเสวนาในหัวข้อ "Citizen Science" ภายในงาน PSU OCEAN DAY 2026 ร่วมกับสถานีวิจัยพะยูนและหญ้าทะเล และสถานวิจัยความเป็นเลิศความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพแห่งคาบสมุทรไทย คณะวิทยาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์

💙 ร่วมเรียนรู้ว่า "วิทยาศาสตร์ภาคพลเมือง (Citizen Science)" จะช่วยอนุรักษ์พะยูน หญ้าทะเล และทรัพยากรทางทะเลของไทยได้อย่างไร

✨ นอกจากนี้ กลุ่มอาสาสมัครพิทักษ์ดุหยงยังได้นำนิทรรศการ "Our World, Whose Sea? โลกของเรา...ทะเลของใคร?" มาร่วมสร้างการเรียนรู้และแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับการใช้ประโยชน์และการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรทางทะเล เพื่อสะท้อนให้เห็นว่า "ทะเลเป็นทรัพยากรของทุกคน และทุกคนสามารถมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลรักษาได้"

🌊 The Dugong Guardian Volunteer Group participated in the "Citizen Science" discussion session at PSU OCEAN DAY 2026, together with the Dugong and Seagrass Research Station and the Center of Excellence for Biodiversity of Peninsular Thailand, Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University.

💙 Join us in exploring how Citizen Science can contribute to the conservation of dugongs, seagrasses, and Thailand’s marine resources

✨ In addition, the Dugong Guardian Volunteer Group presented the exhibition "Our World, Whose Sea?" to foster learning and exchange perspectives on the sustainable use and conservation of marine resources. The exhibition highlights the idea that "the sea belongs to everyone, and everyone can play a role in protecting it."

ตลอด 2 วันที่ผ่านมา ผู้เข้าร่วมได้เรียนรู้ทั้งภาคทฤษฎีและภาคปฏิบัติ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการสำรวจหญ้าทะเล การติดตามพะยูนด้วยเทคนิค Photo ID การใช้โดรนเพื่อการอนุรักษ์ และการเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม เพื่อร่วมกันสร้างเครือข่ายนักวิทยาศาสตร์พลเมืองในการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรทางทะเลอย่างยั่งยืน

ทุกความร่วมมือ คืออีกหนึ่งพลังสำคัญในการดูแล “พะยูน” และ “หญ้าทะเล” ให้คงอยู่ต่อไปในอนาคต

💚 A meaningful and inspiring two-day workshop has successfully concluded

We would like to sincerely thank all speakers, participants, volunteers, and community partners who joined the “Training Workshop on Seagrass and Dugong Monitoring and Data Collection for Citizen Scientists” held on Libong Island, Trang Province, Thailand, from 25-26 May 2026.

Throughout the workshop, participants gained both theoretical and hands-on experience in seagrass monitoring, dugong Photo ID techniques, drone applications for conservation, and field data collection. Together, we are strengthening a network of citizen scientists dedicated to protecting dugongs and seagrass ecosystems for the future

Every collaboration is an important step toward sustainable marine conservation
