BANGKOK AT NIGHT

Found a spot right next to the BTS tracks. An open-air sports bar overlooking the city. Every time a train goes by, I am fascinated by what we've built. Cities are the hub of civilization- for people going to and fro about their day or having a drink at a local bar.
I can't imagine being anywhere else.

SUBLIME

Why do we look at the sunset? It's something that happens from millions of spots around the world for millions of years before we came.
Yet, at that golden hour, after a long day, as the sky shone like the heavens itself was opening up, just before the darkness of the universe engulfed us, we feel time moving at such a cosmic scale that it leaves us awed and paused as the day comes to a close.
And the earth turns.

WATERY SKIN, FIERY TONGUE

Before all the gods, humans worshipped snakes and fire. And here was one that slithered gently across my arm, just for warmth.
I held my breath.

PEEKABOO!

In the jungle, I could feel eyes all around me. The feeling of being watched and preyed on never left me. I inherited this trait from the time my ancestors feared everything behind the bushes. Once in a while, it's not just the wind, but a predator out for the hunt. And just like those long-gone people, I caught this fellow peeking at me at a glance before disappearing into the wild.
(Also, I didn't have the time to adjust my shot so it looks like crap, but I felt lucky nonetheless.)

CHASING HORIZONS

Thousands of seagulls, hundreds of ships, dozens of snaps and I still can't believe I shot this particular one.
I didn't even realise it until I went through my rolls way later.
Here's to another lucky shot.

SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY

A flamboyance of flamingos flocked before me. I had to wait for a while to capture one on its own. Then this one gracefully gaited by.
The elegance of its neck and curvature of its body- I knew I had captured something precious.

ODD COUPLE

Growing up, I always wondered how animals of a different species perceived and interacted with each other.
I came across these two after seeing tribes of monkeys picking on each other. The cow could not care less, and the egret seems to have been perching on the cow since forever, like two good friends just chilling.
Seems some just get along, and some don't.

Wandering around Changi, I came across a butterfly garden, and out came the camera.
Some of these guys are really shy and could not stay still. Except for this one, gently resting on red petals and casually enjoying its nectar.

Bugs' lives are simple.
