Yawn, the week is almost over! Friday! A yawning frogfish can mean a variety of things, stress, coughing or flexing it's jaw muscles either one it's a cool sight to see. After this shot I left it alone in case it was due to stress. I only take a few photos of each frogfish just in case I am putting it in a stressful situation. Froggies rock!

Brittle star hideout! Brittle stars are a close relative to the starfish and look a lot like them. They seem to be a lot more active at night which explains why this one was hiding out in this sponge during the day.

Gotcha! The moment a Flamboyant Cuttlefish (Metasepia pfefferi) catches its prey. An amazing sight to see as the flambo stalks its prey whilst mesmerising the prey with a spectrum of beautiful colours from yellow to white to purple. In an instant it strikes its prey with a long tongue like appendage. These small, extraordinary and venomous cuttlefish are masters at changing their colour in an instant. Their base color is dark brown so hard to see normally, but when they hunt or mate they really do show their true colours! One of the most bizarre members of the cephalod family.

Today is World Oceans Day. Wishing that all reefs could be healthy like this. Sadly they are not. Our planet needs our help. Please do your bit to help, use less plastic, stop using single use plastics like straws, reduce yr intake of red meat and fish, go veggie for at least once a week, buy second hand clothes and if you live near the beach pick up as much plastic and litter that you can. If I can do this so can you, it's not that difficult to change your habits. Its a start we can all make so that the future of our planet for the next generation isn't so bleak as it seems.

A mother's love. I watched this female anemone fish on the dive yesterday and was amazed by the constant relentless care of her unhatched young. She was constantly fanning her offspring with her fins as well blowing water over them to aerate her eggs. By doing this she also clears the eggs free from parasites and debris. When she wasn't aerating them one of the smaller males helped out too. So great to see such tenacity and persistence from the parents. Once they hatch they have to look after themselves and cycle starts all over again. Underwater 💙🥰 Amazing!
