More Japan. Something about 35mm film and the snowy Japanese landscapes just hit the spot. I tend to shoot slower and notice more. It feels a bit like writing poetry, I suppose? Frozen hands for days.

This year felt a bit like Frankenstein. Pieces stitched together from all kinds of photography projects.

Four exhibitions. Thousands of photos. Dozens of rolls of film. A few short films. A photography book. And my first year teaching film. Big shoutout to my young filmmaker students. You inspired me more than you know.

As the year comes to an end, I’m feeling really thankful. For the people who supported me, developed my film, gave me honest critiques, showed up to exhibitions, and stayed in my corner.

I always get sentimental at the end of a year, and this one is no different. Exhibitions with friends, new friends, Chiang Mai Design Week, and so many moments that reminded me why I do this.

Thankful to God for guiding it all. Already excited for what’s coming in 2026.

Happy New Year everyone 🤍 #2025

Golden Smiles: Portraits from Rural Northern Thailand
Design Week 2025

This past week has been a highlight of 2025 for me.

Over 7 days we made more than 1,000 portraits, handed out 800 postcards, and went through 15 rolls of thermal paper. One intern, two student volunteers, and a whole lot of friends stepped in to help when things got busy. And they did.

This project exploded into something much bigger than I expected. It changed the way I think about making and sharing photography. Smiles really are infectious, and this experience showed me the power of interactive artwork. This was never about me. It was about the people who came, joined in, and made the work their own.

A huge thank you to for the opportunity and for pushing me to grow as an artist. Much of this came together at the very last second, from drilling wood to buying doors. We ran out of thermal paper twice. We ran out of postcards twice. Somehow it all worked.

Thank you to the Chiang Mai Arts & Culture Center for the space, to for developing the 35mm film, and most importantly to the farmers in rural Northern Thailand who shared their stories and their smiles with me.

More projects soon.

What an overwhelming weekend at the Chiang Mai Arts & Culture Center for ‘25. We took over 450 portraits with my small team, with smiles from all over the world including Russia, Austria, Japan, Korea, Canada, France, and so many more. It was unreal to see people connect with the 35mm film photos, and even wilder to watch how excited everyone was to share their own smile.

Smiles are universal. They move across language, culture, and age, and this weekend reminded me just how strong they can be. Joy spreads fast.

We still have 6 days left.
Open daily 10am–10pm.
We’ll keep adding new photos to the Smile Wall 6pm–10pm on weekdays, and all day this Saturday and Sunday. Big thanks to my team for bringing so much energy into this project.

Postcards are officially sold out, but I’m hoping to restock tonight.

None of this would have been possible without my intern, my friends, and our small staff. Grateful for every person who stepped into this space and shared a moment with us.

I’ll personally be there from 6pm–10pm on weekdays, and 10am–10pm throughout the weekend.

Proud to share that my film photographs will be part of 2025 at the Chiang Mai City Heritage Center. I’ll be exhibiting around twenty images of the people and everyday life in Mae Rim, the community I’ve called home for years.

There’s also a new interactive photography element I’ve never tried before, and I’m excited to see how people connect with it.

Come check it out, my work will be on view alongside so many incredible Chiang Mai creatives December 6–14, from 10am–10pm. Hope to see you there. (Especially if you’re one of my students. And no, you won’t get extra credit ✌️ nice try.)

Design Week is such a beautiful celebration of ideas, even if you don’t come for my work, you should absolutely come experience it. I’m genuinely honored to be part of it, and huge thanks to .cnx the legend.

Coffee & Cameras.
That’s where it starts.

I’m super excited to finally share Still Thailand: Landscapes on Film with you. Organizing 22 photographers for this exhibition has been a ton of work, but in just two weeks it all comes together.

Brewginning will transform into a full-on film photography spot complete with collodion photography (old-school wet plate) demonstrations and a mini film camera flea market. One of the coolest cafes in Chiang Mai is hosting, and I couldn’t be happier.

Expect coffee, photography, live music, food, and friends all under one roof.

Opening:
- Brewginning Coffee Company
- Saturday, 20th September
- 4PM–7PM

Featuring film photography by:
Panupong Tachabuntum, Patthita Sawatdang, Will Langston, Pakorn Ruengwattwittaya, Sasithon Natsetea, Yanida Supasinsatit, Pornpaparn Ketavanon, Robyn Preston, Nuttanit Kanaphol, Ugo Cesare, Chinnapat Oupaijit, Tanisorn Khammek, Sarawut Muangchom, Yidan Xiong, Priyaporn Simsuwan, Yu Jihai, Krit Kahawong, Sek Wuttirut, Gevalee Darayen, Luke Erickson, Nattanit Kaewsomboon, Teerawut Phiwdam

After hours in the city that truly never sleeps. Flowing through Midtown Manhattan feels like drifting through the center of it all. NYC is alive & electric and the glow of Times Square, Madison Square Garden and Rockefeller Center lights the way. I felt like a small fish following the glow of angler fish.
