Exploring the historic Tenryuji Temple in Arashiyama, Kyoto, is a magical experience, especially during the vibrant autumn season.
As a UNESCO World Heritage site, the temple grounds offer a stunning blend of traditional architecture and breathtaking natural beauty.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the Sogenchi Pond Garden.
The landscape was transformed into a fiery canvas of reds, oranges, and yellows, with the colorful maple trees perfectly reflected in the tranquil water.
Wandering through the garden, past withered lotus ponds and carefully placed stones, felt like stepping into a living painting.
The temple buildings themselves, with their classic Japanese rooflines framed by the fall foliage, provided a grand backdrop.
We also took a serene walk through the towering bamboo grove just outside the temple, a must-see spot in Arashiyama.
Seeing people offer prayers at the shrines and soaking in the bustling yet peaceful atmosphere made the trip truly memorable.
