Inside Thailand's Oldest Equipment House — 40 Years of Outfitting Hollywood
Nobody tells you this about production infrastructure in Southeast Asia — it's already built, and it's been running since 1985.
VS Service started with a gaffer named P'Chet and grew into one of Bangkok's oldest and deepest equipment rental houses, supplying lighting and grip for Good Morning Vietnam, the Rambo films, Jackie Chan and Jean-Claude Van Damme productions, and the most recent Jurassic World.
In this video, we walk the floor: the largest Creamsource collection in the country, HMI ranging from vintage ARRI units to modern SkyPanels, four Chapman dollies owned outright (the only ones in Asia outside Hong Kong), and two trucks permanently loaded and ready to roll before the callsheet even goes out.
This is what "infrastructure is already here" actually looks like — and it's why productions keep coming back to Thailand.
