⚠️Friendly reminder to all new-coming Steadicam operators⚠️
✅Be aware of your posture while operating. You should be relax. Your neck shouldn’t have any stress or tension. (I know it’s heavy, I get it and I feel it too!)
✅Keep yourself hydrated
✅Dock your rig whenever possible
✅Never be afraid to communicate with a DP if you think a shot needs to be done differently. For example, If it’s a very low, slow push-in with no actors. Then call for a dolly. The fact that you have a hammer in your hand, doesn’t make everything around you a nail. At the end of the day that shot is going to have your name embedded. Therefore, work wisely⚠️
✅(my preference)Wear knee compressors to avoid/reduce inflammation and secure your knee caps.
✅Don’t risk your life for a shot or two. Be professional, think about your safety first!
✅And for god’s sake, wear a mask 💯.
