Nipan and his family move to Chumphon during the third wave of the covid-19 pandemic.
It has been 3 months that we could not move and stuck in a place. Some stuck in physical space, some were caged in emotional depression.
The Landscape, shot from some place in Chumphon was transformed in the cyanotype process. Nipan took a picture and send it to us after our workshop last month.
Nipan, Wantanee and Viriya are preparing an art activity to present pictures of the Salaya community. This event was organizes by Salayanian in collaboration with Daily Delay, supported by the Contemporary Art Promotion Fund.
This activity is in progress, coming soon in August 2021.
About Salayanion
Salayanion is a group of young people who have recently moved into the Salaya area and its nearby.
With the curiosity of their community, they come up with a way to see and explore things that they had never seen, never known. Seeing establishes our place in the surrounding world. We think that seeing is not just a matter of looking and the matters you look at sometimes it is not what you see. The way we see is affected by what we know, what we believe, our set of ideas, experiences, and ways of living, etc.
Seeing comes along words is the picturing Salaya area and nearby of the three artists -- Nipan Oranniwesna, Wantanee Siripattananantakul, and Viriya Chotpanyavisut who have seen from a distance. Artists' s seeing comes along with the postcards-words, collected voices of people in the neighborhood areas towards their community and life that will be sending around the neighborhood area. These activities collect empirical data and examine the visual validity of one who wants to explore what is known as a community. And finally, the project ultimately opens both ears and eyes and leads to questions that never be asking.
This project is part of The Salayanion art project: creating social diversity through community-based, funded by Contemporary Art Promotion Fund, Office of Contemporary Art and Culture.

“ศาลายาเนี่ยน”คือกลุ่มคนรุ่นใหม่ที่เพิ่งย้ายเข้ามาอยู่ในพื้นที่ศาลายาและละแวกใกล้เคียง
ด้วยความอยากรู้จักชุมชนของตัวเองทำให้เกิดการคิดหาหนทางที่จะพากันเข้าไปมองและสำรวจในสิ่งที่ไม่เคยได้เห็น ไม่เคยรู้จัก เพราะเชื่อว่าการเห็นไม่ได้เป็นแค่เรื่องของการมอง แต่คือการสะท้อนชุดความคิด ประสบการณ์ แนวทางการดำเนินชีวิตที่สัมพันธ์ไปกับกรอบการมองโลก มองสังคมของผู้ที่ใช้สายตาในการสำรวจ
Seeing comes along words คือการประกอบสร้างมุมในการมองพื้นที่ศาลายาของศิลปินทั้งสามคน--นิพันธ์ โอฬารนิเวศน์, วันทนีย์ ศิริพัฒนานันทกูร และวิริยะ โชติปัญญาวิสุทธิ์ ที่มองมาจากตำแหน่งที่พวกเขาอยู่อาศัยห่างลดหลั่นกันออกไป พร้อมไปกับการรวบรวมถ้อยคำต่างๆ ของผู้คนในละแวกที่มีต่อชุมชนและการใช้ชีวิตในชุมชนที่จะถูกกระจายคืนกลับเข้าไปในพื้นที่เดิม โดยทั้งสองส่วนนี้คือผลของการเก็บข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์และการตรวจสอบความเที่ยงตรงของสายตาของกลุ่มคนที่ต้องการสำรวจสิ่งที่เรียกว่าภาพความเป็นชุมชน ที่ในท้ายที่สุดแล้วคือการเปิดทั้งหูและเปิดทั้งตาและพาไปสู่การตั้งคำถามในเรื่องที่ไม่เคยได้ถาม
กิจกรรมนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการศาลายาเนี่ยนร่วมสมัยเพื่อการสร้างความหลากหลายทางสังคม ผ่านกระบวนการศิลปะกับชุมชน ได้รับทุนสนับสนุนส่วนหนึ่งจากกองทุนส่งเสริมศิลปะร่วมสมัย สำนักงานศิลปวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัย
