Yesterday, we concluded the farewell prayers in honour of our beloved late uncle, father, brother, community leader, colleague, and friend, Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabior Wol

As we reflect on the conclusion of the farewell prayers and 40-day memorial services in honour of our beloved late Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit Wol, who departed this life on 20 August 2026, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who stood with the bereaved family and Kuac Ayok Community during this difficult period.

As Chairperson of the High-Level Organising Committee, it was both an honour and a great responsibility to lead the team entrusted with coordinating the funeral and memorial activities of our beloved uncle, father, brother, colleague, community leader, and friend. This responsibility required collective effort, commitment, sacrifice, and the cooperation of many people.

On behalf of the committee and in solidarity with the bereaved family, I extend my sincere appreciation to H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, Hon. Adut Salva Kiir Mayardit, Senior Presidential Envoy on Special Programmes, former Vice Presidents, government officials, community leaders, chiefs, elders, religious leaders, women, youth, friends, colleagues, and all well-wishers who supported us through prayers, financial contributions, material assistance, and other forms of solidarity.

I am particularly grateful to everyone who contributed to the funeral arrangements, including those who supported the transportation of our beloved uncle to Kuajok, participated in the prayer gatherings, and helped ensure that he was laid to rest with dignity and respect. The generous contributions of more than 70 bulls in Juba and Kuajok demonstrated the remarkable spirit of compassion and unity within our community.

My sincere appreciation also goes to Hon. Makuc Makuc Ngong, Acting Chairperson of Kuac Ayok Community, Gen. Madut Ayai Deng, Chairperson of Kuac Ayok Community Juba chapter, the members of the High-Level Organising Committee, and the seven subcommittees for their dedication, teamwork, and sacrifices. I also thank the bereaved family, the women who accompanied Mama Ameldit, our chiefs and elders, neighbouring communities, the wider Warrap State community, religious institutions, media practitioners, and everyone who offered assistance during this period of mourning.

To every individual who contributed in any way, whether through financial support, livestock, transportation, hospitality, logistical assistance, prayers, or words of encouragement, please accept my heartfelt gratitude. Every contribution mattered, and every act of kindness helped us carry this responsibility together.

At the same time, I wish to humbly ask for forgiveness from the leadership of Kuac Ayok Community, the bereaved family, our guests, media colleagues, equipment providers, and every member of the organising committee. If there were any shortcomings, misunderstandings, inconveniences, or decisions during the arrangements that caused dissatisfaction, I sincerely regret them and ask for your understanding and forgiveness. As Chairperson, I also ask forgiveness from anyone who may have felt offended by my words, decisions, or manner of coordination. We undertook this responsibility with good intentions and a common desire to honour our departed uncle.

As we remember the life of the late Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit Wol, former Minister of Finance and Planning and Chairperson of Kuac Ayok Community worldwide, let us continue to uphold the values of unity, service, generosity, responsibility, and mutual respect. His departure is a great loss to his family, our community, and all those who valued his leadership, friendship, and contribution to public service.

Let us also remember that our responsibility to the bereaved family does not end with the memorial service. They will continue to need our prayers, encouragement, compassion, and practical support. May we remain united in standing with them and preserving the good values that bind us together as a community.

May the Almighty God comfort the bereaved family, bless everyone who stood with us, strengthen Kuac Ayok Community, and grant eternal rest to the soul of our beloved late Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit Wol.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Long live the unity of Kuac Ayok Community.

Long live the spirit of solidarity, forgiveness, and mutual support.
