π For many, the eyes are the most otherworldly part of our body π they are the mirror of the soul. Therefore they deserve the proper attentionπ
Today's Tip π₯: Choosing the right lens is fundamental to emphasize them π
Gear π: Use a long lens, at least 85mm. It has the ideal length to maintain distance, so you won't block the light from hitting the pupils.
Settings βοΈ: Don't go over 800 ISO, stick around F. 8 or even F. 11 to have fewer problems with the focus, and use shutter speed to adjust the exposure (but be sure not to go lower than 1/60th second. In order not to have motion blur)
Lighting and Position π‘: You can use natural lighting, such as a bright room with a window; or artificial, such as lamps or softboxes (be careful with flashes and strobes, because they'll make your model blink if they are too powerful)
In any case, lighting should always come from the side.
A little curiosity β οΈ: The "Sclera" is the white part of our eye.
The shooting process and lighting can stress the model's eye. So, tiny red veins will be visible π
If this happens take a break or use over-the-counter eye drops to lessen the redness π
