Won a dream brief whilst in the middle of Rome was the best feeling ever 😂 NGL a tech recee after a 13 hour flight from Italy and immediately heading off to Mandai was an interesting experience.

Finally shooting for a client I’ve been gunning for since the start of my career and hoping someday i’ll do my best to represent singapore and make singapore look anything but “boring”.

Had an idea the visual approach - what it would be like being in the shoes of a photographer friend hanging with his mates and capturing fun moments with a direct and pop up flash effect. Also this kinda reminds me of before each big vaccay - i’d like to have a 1 week of prep revolving around thinking of which interesting fun camera/point and shoot/ lenses i’d bring on a trip in this case an ultra wide angle perspective. Next i would think of the kind of treatment i’d like to treat my travel images~ chose contrasty, punchy and vibrant for this project, leaning heavily on creators from tokyo for inspiration.

Huge thank you to the amazing production support from push play for making this shoot ridiculously smooth. Stills Network for sorting me out for my biggest project ever. And to KK, eddie, joo, Caroline and (apologies if i missed out any) for believing / seeing the vision

Not every day you get a fun brief that’s right up your alley; go ham with colours go ham with patterns, make it bright, contrasty, graphic, colourful and go all out proposing fun visual directions 💥

Shout out to the team that made this 2-3 day turnaround and vision come through 🫶🏻

Not everyday you get a brief that requires the terry richardson / juegen teller look. What a massive dose of nostalgia; when cameras came with built in flashes in em’.

Also any other fellow gourmand dunks their chicken in coleslaw? 😬

The most technically challenging shoot from 2025 - getting a natural halo behind the talent wasn’t the hard part. Lighting the phone was the hardest and it was truly the sum of its parts that makes it a challenge: each section requires a specific lighting style / technique from the phone body, the camera lens, the rim of the phone, the apple logo and to the accuracy of the body colour.

Shout out to team TBWA for the trust in pulling this project off - big thanks to Yuan heng, zach, yuki, deena and my fab production support 🫶🏻

Have been terrible at updating my portfolio in a timely manner and racking up a massive 1 year backlog, but starting with one of my proudest projects of 2025, a dream client plus dream location to shoot 🫶🏻

Here’s a director’s cut of a make believe golden hour 5/6pm “crafted” sun hitting changi airport based off an interpretation of the brief (image 10 + 11). We attempted to make a non sun kissed airport look sun kissed, via interesting golden hour light shaping attachments, shout out for the heavy lifting and light shaping💥

Thank you 🫶🏻
