Dear friends, have you tried "Motion Blur" or " Ghost Effect" photography? Had the chance to shoot a few shots of this type of effect during the National Stadium during NDP Preview 1.
Simple trick -
1) Camera on tripod (or camera and lenses with internal stabilisation) - Shutter speed 0.5s-1s.
2) Still subject with surrounding in motion.
Easy if you can prearrange with subject, but challenging if it is impromptu or spontaneous.

Camera - Canon R6mkIII
Lens - Canon RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS
Photo EXIF - 0.6s , F22 , ISO100. Polariser and Tripod used.

Dear friends, like to share my very 1st "full-length" Youtube video, of the NDP2026 NE1. I am more of a still photography so making video is quite out of my comfort zone. I engaged the advice of my trusted "concierge" ChatGPT so this marks a milestone of sort,
Hope you like the video (disclaimer- subtitles are AI generated and have 'typo') 😄🙏🇸🇬

Dear friends, S'pore's MRT network is more than just a way to get around - it's also a great subject for photography. One of my favourite techniques is panning, to create a sense of speed while keeping the train relatively sharp.

For this shot, timing was everything: tracking the train smoothly, maintaining a steady stance, and getting the "sweet spot" with shutter speeds to find the right balance between motion blur and detail. The result transforms an everyday commute into an image that captures the energy and rhythm of the city.

Camera - R6mkIII
Lens - Canon RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS
Photo data - 30s, F7.1 , ISO (Auto). Sirui tripod + Manfrotto Magnesium Xpro Ball Head.

Dear friends, sharing probably 1 of the toughest shooting locations I’ve experienced in S'pore - the MCE traffic light trails overlooking S'pore’s Downtown Core at Marina Coastal Drive. I’ve seen many photographers shoot this spot over the years, but the ground conditions today were far tougher than expected. Overgrown shrubs, thick mimosa plants, soggy ground, & a tiny shooting space barely enough for one person at the best angle. Thankfully, the mozzies were quiet and the ants were harmless. Please PM me if you the location details.

Camera - R6mkIII
Lens - Canon RF14-35mm F4L IS
Photo data - 17mm, 6s, F11, ISO 100.
Main picture is 7 frames composite using Canon DPP.

Dear friends, like to share a "forgotton icon" of Marina Bay - the mooring dock near the floating LV pavilion, which is itself architecturally iconic because it is the world’s only floating Louis Vuitton Island Maison. When I first saw it many years ago, I somehow like it, but can't really understand why many shutterbugs make a beeline for it. After such a long procrastination, I finally capture it and convey it my way. Perhaps it gives the Downtown Core background a different vibe? I am still not really sure really, but the shooting process was certainly therapeutic.

Camera - R6mkIII
Lens - Canon RF14-35mm F4L IS
Photo data - 17mm, 1/125, F5.6, ISO 100.

Dear friends, like to share couple of shots that I took at Singapore Downtown Core that I took yesterday. Part of a series of pictures I am taking to refresh my image bank sales at Getty/iStock.

Our country skyline is gaining significant traction and strengthening its position on the international stage in 2026, driven by our reputation as a safe, stable, and trusted global hub amid geopolitical instability.

Always a great feeling capturing our iconic skyline.

Camera - R6mkIII
Lens - Canon RF14-35mm F4L IS
Photo data - 30s, F11 , ISO 100. Nisi filter - Nisi GND (4 stops), ND (9 stops).
