Said chaos in my previous post. Chaotic but cute. Always.

I don’t gun for picture perfect, I gun for mood appropriate. Restless tired kids get their play time, parents get their couple photo time. The result is just this organic, messy, but adorable moments together.

Of course we also get some posey shots which everyone wants. But we gotta go on a journey first and have a little bit of fun, build a little bit of trust, and go with the flow before we reach there. ❤️

Studio shoot with Nadia’s family!

The kids are getting more opinionated and assured now that they’re growing up.

At this age, I’m realising it’s all about involving them in mini decisions and lots of negotiations to keep them engaged and excited to be involved as subjects of a photo. Letting them direct their parents in some poses during “breaks” before we go for THE shots with the whole fam. Stuff like that.

Shooting plenty of offbeat moments before they’re in the mood for that photo moment too. The hard work is in filtering the shots now too.

Still a very fulfilling experience for me on a weekend.

One of the benefits of getting a photographer to do family shoots is really getting those precious moments in between the chaos. I understand that it’s hard enough managing children as they enter their little adult phase, let alone get a photo with a self timer. Chaos is ever present. But yeah, with the photos I take, I hope my families remember that there’s cuteness and goodness in chaos always.

Always thankful for the trust I get from my friends turned clients and clients turned friends. I’m definitely a little different from other professional photographers, but I think it’s also a different, refreshing experience. 😊
