Lake Tamblingan, Bali. March 2018.

Massive thick clouds hovered across the entire lake that afternoon like an immense soft box projecting itself over the still waters mirroring a snowy reflection.

At a distance, I observed this Balinese kid and his friends cast their fishing rods. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long enough to see what their catch was, so I had no idea what sort of fish were caught in the lake. I hope they were fruitful in their hunt that day.

The view of the lake is so pristine, surrounded by dense rainforest and archaeological remnants of the 10th-century Tamblingan civilisation.

Taiping, Malaysia // September 2019

First roll, second frame. A few minutes after I've gotten myself a Hasselblad 500C/M, I met this elderly gentleman who runs an old photo studio in Taiping, Malaysia. Asked if he could pose with his Mamiya Press, which was kept in his glass showcase.

Photographed on
Hasselblad 500C/M + CZ Planar 100mm f3.5 // Kodak Portra 400

"Somewhere in Singapore" is a current project I am working on. It's an exploration of hidden spaces and unusual places in Singapore photographed on film. While the pandemic may have made traveling almost impossible, but if we find the time to explore around we might just find hidden gems.

Sometimes, being tourists in our own land can lead us to very interesting places.

Photographed on Fujicolor Superia 200, expired in 2006.

Portrait of a great friend and a dear brother. Dust Gaudan on KODAK Portra 400. It is such a blessing knowing Dust and his wife Carla. This man not only possesses a golden voice and an amazing talent for singing, but he’s also got a heart of gold for people. God bless you, bro! You're a gem.😊

Pretty in Pink - Singapore // August 2020 // Photographed on KODAK Portra 400 with Mamiya 645.

We don't have sakura trees in Singapore, but we do have a variety of beautiful bougainvillea. Not many would know that the reason why bougainvillea flowers are so common in Singapore is part of our late Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew's legacy to make Singapore a beautiful green city with flowering trees.

This is TC Tay, a friendly gentleman who lives in Bedok. He's one of those amazing people I would get to meet on the streets while taking pictures. He came to Tiong Bahru for an evening stroll. As I was loading a roll of film into my camera that somehow caught his attention. This eventually led to a really nice, long conversation about film photography.

I asked if I could take his picture and it was truly wonderful that he agreed.
