After a long time, back on the bike again. With camera in-tow, it was just a nice morning to take a couple of snaps of the Marina Bay area. I may have to do this again!!

You would never, ever guess where this photo was taken. You always expect certain things when you travel based on where you are going, but I did not expect this. But...this photo really sticks with me as one of my favorites. Where? Try Rapa Nui, or Easter Island, in the South Pacific. History tells us that when people came to Easter Island the culture eventually denuded the land for resources. Did they use the wood for moving the huge statues (Moai) that are so famous there? Besides the incredible moai (statues), by going inland you get a scene straight out of the American West. Horses were abundant though out the island. Go figure..

One of my favorite spots walking from the hotel in Phuket was this isolated island that can be approached at low tide. I loved getting up at sunrise and trying different angles and stitching into panoramas. And besides....it was soooo wonderful to be out alone absorbing the fresh ocean air.
Used photoshop for the stitching with added editing via ColorEfx Pro and Luminar AI.

After over 2.5 years, it was great to get out again for some light travel. I was lucky enough to book Phuket at the right time as very affordable trip and very few tourists yet. Even no Covid tests back and forth from Singapore.
We stayed at the Marriott Naiyang Beach, which was very isolated from the rest of Phuket. The tides were remarkable with low tide allowing you to go out deep into the area, even exposing access to a small island (photo below). The area also has a few fishermen based on the area and was lucky to catch a couple of them repairing their boat during low tide.
I went mostly to relax, but having the camera got me back to the shutterbug mode again!! I have a few thousands photos of my wife!!!
Enjoy...and have some wonderful journeys!!

I have started collecting my Singapore images as having no travel for the past several months, I am out shooting locally. With this mind, I have added a new portfolio for Singapore 2021 for images shot to date. I will add a 2020 soon. Hopefully you can enjoy!!

Due to travel restrictions, I have spent more time shooting around Singapore. Here are the images from 2021 so far.

I got up early this morning and went to the Botanic Gardens (10 minute MRT) to catch sunrise, but caught the sun shining on Swan Lake. Here are two photos with the right one being close to the original (I add some saturation, etc.) and the left one using a "Looks" (textured) filter with Topaz Studio 2.

This is a photo during my stay on Inle Lake (in those stilted huts) in Myanmar a few years ago. In going through my photos, I liked this with the sunrise on the lake, but decided to get a little artistic, if this is called that. I posted this on a photo website I use and they commented the moon was too big, but my intent was that this is more or less a sci-fi artistic rendition and the moon is actually Europa, which hovers over Jupiter. I wanted that cosmic feel and hope I got that when you look at it. So the moon and reflection were added via Luminar 4 and this took some work, so I am happy I was patient enough to see through it (I am NOT a patient editor!).

One of the tools I have acquired this year was Topaz Studio 2, which basically contains several interesting "Looks" or textured filters. This is the Baja Salt Flats at sunset and this is he reflection on the salt fields filled with shallow water. I thought a dusty look in Topaz was effective in this case. So workflow was a little CC Raw to generally set the exposure, straightening, and such. Then followed by some minor editing in Nik Collection's Color Efx Pro and then finally Topaz. It took less than one to two minutes to do this.
