R A I N B O W S E P I A
------------------------

Rochor Centre was always a special place to me because I was always intrigued by the colorful buildings. We just happened to be in the area, so, why not? ^^
These colorful rainbow flats still continue to be inhabited to this very day by a myriad of people, ranging from the elderly to young schoolgoing children. Four iconic blocks of red, blue, green and yellow all surround a rather empty roof, littered with tables and benches and covered walkways, and on top of a whole complex that is a silent shell of its heyday, almost an eerie and grim reminder of the disappearing histories of our country. Sitting in the middle of the roof gives almost a reflective feel as you stare up into the towering blocks, watching as an old lady feeds the giant flocks of pigeons, or as pigeons nest at the crevices, or even just people going about their daily lives and passing through the empty, wide open spaces.
Awash in a sort of faded, impending gloom as photography enthusiasts try to salvage the memories of the area, the faint strains of the scattered chatter and convergence of life all around the area seems to form but a very fitting, lilting send off to the area, a symphony of sounds, and a rainbow tinged sepia that was and will be, forever etched in the history of Singapore.
