🎉 To mark Singapore’s 60th year of independence, 60 brisk walkers from Nee Soon South Zone ‘B' Residents' Network assembled a special display at the Khatib Vale Open Field, holding 60 Flags high with the formation of "SG60".

As we celebrate , this display is our tribute to the strong 60 years of unity, and many more in the years to come.

Seeking refuge in Lord Muruga, I wish everyone a blessed Thaipusam! May the powerful Vel always be by your side.

Thaipusam, stemming from the Tamil month Thai and the Poosam constellation, is believed to be an auspicious astrological day.

Honouring Lord Murugan, the Hindu god of war, Thaipusam commemorates his triumph over Surapadman. In Singapore, we honour our beloved Lord Muruga through a foot procession from Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple to Sri Thendayuthapani Temple. The foot procession is a walk of devotion and penance as devotees carry kavadis and offerings of milk for Skanda.
