Here we are going for some on-set Hollywood vibes.

I deliberately put some gear in the foreground and background to create depth and layers, with an optical snoot with a gobo attached to a strobe light to create patterns on smoke by a compact fog machine blowing in the background with Emily as the subject.

I also added a small layer of mist filter from Boris FX Optics to work some magic in creating some soft bloom look.

We’re testing out a new plugin for Photoshop now! Despite not being equipped with a bloom filter on my camera lens, I added the bloom effect in post with the Boris FX Optics plugin for Photoshop.

For this photo, I added an optical snoot to my Broncolor Siros L 400 acting as a key light to add a diagonal strip of light across Emily. The plugin adds a bloom effect on the highlights. Let me know what you think :)

Personally, I think it works phenomenally!

Special shoutout to for introducing me to this amazing plugin that adds lighting and other elements to my photos, making things just so much cooler easily.

Hello, fellow content creators.
Especially those in Singapore.

Likes, shares and comments aren’t worth it if you break a law, knowingly or otherwise, and get fined and/or jailed for it.

Got that drone? Great.
Know where the NFZs are and don’t fly there.

Got a spot to take photos at? Cool.
Get the permits if necessary.

Got a crazy idea? Awesome.
Just don’t put yourself and others in danger.

Stay safe and happy creating!

Photo of me taken by the wife~
It’s rare to see her being the one behind the lens pressing the buttons on a camera when we work together on photography projects in the past (she was my makeup artist) so this evening was a little special with our little photography project in our living room :) She insisted I’m the subject.

It’s not often that I look up and observe the moon but tonight was a little special. I thought why not take a photo of the moon?

Once I had my camera set up from the comfort of my living room did I realize that due to the Earth’s rotation and the moon’s orbit, the moon moves quite “quickly” across the sky. Mad respect to all who shoot photos of the cosmos and chasing stars. I had to continuously adjust my ballhead to get the composition right!

For this photo, I had Capture One for the iPad tethered to my Sony A7RIII with an FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS via a Tethertools Pro cable. The 70-200 is hardly the right lens to capture the moon in its entire glory. I heard it would be better to shoot with a 600mm or something.

Surprisingly, the whole setup was completely stable when mounted on a Leofoto LO-224C tripod with LH-30 ballhead - a very lightweight tripod! This was the very same tripod I took to places like Egypt during my work travels. Swipe to see the setup!

I also did some minor retouching in Capture One (I’m still on version 16.5.11.2898 with a perpetual license) to get back some shadows of the treeline and the clouds. Heard Capture One has seen some new cool updates recently. I’ll probably check it out soon!
