Istana Woodneuk. This mansion was built by Johor Sultan Abu Bakar ibni Daing Ibrahim (1833-1895) for his 4th wife, Sultana Khadijah. The building we see nowadays was built in 1935. It is located near Singapore Botanic Garden, between the Holland Road and Tyersall Avenue.
During WWII, this building was used as a hospital. 700 people were killed when Japanese Air Force bombed here. The building was said to be well kept until around 1986, but was seriously damaged in a fire accident in 2006. Since than the building became ruin. Now it is secretly hidden in the jungle.
