The first photo above displays one of Guo Pei’s masterpieces which called as 黄皇后 (Yellow Queen). It was worn by famous American singer, Rihanna for the 2015 Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Musuwmbod Art - the “MET Gala” in New York. Featuring yellow and gold collection, Guo Pei’s artworks highlights 29 stunning embroidery masterworks that were made of more than 5000 hours.

This exhibition is the first fashion-focused for Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM). Its aim is to highlight how heritage and tradition can be relevant to contemporary art; that heritage and tradition can be remarkably sexy and alluring.

Note: Today is the last day of museum; the operating hours for today (15 Sep, Sunday) is 10 - 7pm!

I was delighted to make my time for my trip to couture-related museum! My actual passion for couture began with a little something called fashion. The combination of texture, colour, shape, lines, decoration and proportion never fails to amaze me. This is the reason why I choose a fashion-related topic for my dissertation. Great! I finally completed my dissertation and it’s time to bring my camera out!
