I was at Ilham Gallery last Saturday for their Ilham Conversation: Good Grief with Jo Kukathas and Kuah Jenhan. "Good Grief!" it was amazing and I have no regrets flying to KL over the weekend.

"We grieve because of the imprint left behind from the loss." - Jo Kukathas

"If you can laugh about grief, then you can accept grief." - Kuah Jenhan

I was really moved by their conversion and engagement with the audience. In the closing question, I took the mic and asked:

"We grieve for others but do we grieve for ourselves...?"

Which the audience resonated and I'm truly touched by the response Jo & Jenhan, and others who followed up with me after the event.

I was initially counting down to this Saturday for my 1st AI Hackathon at Asia School of Business University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with 400+ AI creators from Southeast Asia. Tasked to generate a 90sec video using Seedance 2.0 by Byteplus, on the theme of The AI Explainer (educational AI video).

However I just received news that the hackathon event had to be postponed due to the legal tussle between Seedance 2.0 vs major media companies... I'm feeling the disappointment as I can't join the hackathon on the postponed date.

I will still pay KL a visit this weekend, so feel free to meet me around Chow Kit area for kopi and talk about art, photography and AI. If you're keen, join me in walking the wet market in the morning, art gallery visit in the afternoon, or catch the sunset over beer. I'm open for portraiture collab too, so drop me a text ;)

Participants are invited to engage in the analogue print development process. Spots are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Throwback to 6th & 7th August 2025, when I presented my AI in art research practice: "The Uncaptured Practice: AI Hallucination in Man-Machine Co-creation" at ADPRex 2025 Conference, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Singapore.

My first home ground conference presentation after March this year conference presentation at School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. This presentation deep dive into the uncaptured as the creative potential when co-creating with AI, not overlooking the critical issues that alter our perceptions and beliefs through making and consumption of AI visuals.

The conference experience opens up opportunity for collaboration and exchange, a big thank you to everyone who reached out to me during and after my presentation. I'm looking forward to sharing my WTFish Wonderland 7 work in the upcoming Evolving Matter exhibition at Multimedia University in Cyberjaya, KL. More details to come soon ;)
