1 month ago, I presented my peer reviewed research paper titled 'Human Imaginates, AI Hallucinates: The Myth of Pasar Basah as Process-Based Learning' at Waseda University, Tokyo. The '2026 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Health and Education (ICAIHE)' was a very unique experience for me.

Researchers from different fields shared their findings using data and graphs. As for me the lone Singaporean representing Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Singapore, I was sharing my practice-based research as process-based learning for creative pedagogy. Which resulted in an unexpected engagement from the audiences. It brings me joy to see the fruits of labour from my AI-in-Art research. Magic happens when different disciplines come together to shape our common future with AI.

Big thank you to the organizing team of ICAIHE & AICA 2026 for having me, Bin Youn for chairing the 'AI-Enhanced Pedagogy for Creative Arts and Media Education Workshop (AICA)', and last but not least, Roopesh Sitharan for his very insightful keynote 'Towards an oppositional Pedagogy of AI' which left me amazed and nodding my head away in agreement.

A big thank you to Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Singapore for having me to present my research at ADPRex X APARN Conference. My presentation titled: "Developing the Hallucination: Co-Authorship & Authority of the Darkroom" was very well received by panel 13 audiences. My biggest takeaway was "using distrust itself to question the image with trust issues" as commented by Dr Roopesh Sitharan of Multimedia University. And many other insightful exchange from international academics.

Our panel topic- Technology, Heritage & Southeast Asia is an amazing chemistry mixed, chaired by Dr Adrian Tan & my co-panelist, Dea A. Widyaevan with her presentation titled: "AI-Dialogic Storytelling: Reconfiguring Narrative Authority in Postcolonial Heritage Exhibitions"

Thank you for the contacts and opportunities offered, I will make good and develop hallucination of WTFish Wonderland into 'reality.'

Big thanks for sharing your beautiful photo of my presentation. Photos by:

Big thank you Brian Foong for the support and engagement during ADPRex X APARN conference over the last 3 days. I'm glad my presentation titled: "Developing the Hallucination: Co-authorship & Authority of the Darkroom" had left an impression in you to write about it.

We're at all at a transition phrase with gen-AI, who are we as a human is being redefine as we thread on this re-discovery path. Art & Design is naturally part of this journey because our human culture is the reason why we're unique as each individual human being.

I have sat through many events in this city that call themselves talks, dialogues, panels. What I have never had is the time to sit through three consecutive days of a conference, let alone an academic one.

Day 1 of ADPRex X APARN conference at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Singapore officially done. I was left heavy hearted by Distinguished Professor of UCLA, Celine Parreñas Shimizu's special preview of 'Parreñas Sisters'. Nonetheless, lots of exchange and insight into different practitioners' and their approach to the theme of 'Who Speaks?'

For day 2 tomorrow, my presentation titled, 'Developing the Hallucination: Human-AI Co-Authorship and the Authority of the Darkroom' will be happening at Studio Theatre at 11am, together with my co-panel 13 presenter- Dea A. Widyaevan, and chaired by Dr Adrian Tan.

See you at the only panel of 'TECHNOLOGY, HERITAGE, AND SOUTHEAST ASIA' 🫰

I was at Ilham Gallery last Saturday for their Ilham Conversation: Good Grief with Jo Kukathas and Kuah Jenhan. "Good Grief!" it was amazing and I have no regrets flying to KL over the weekend.

"We grieve because of the imprint left behind from the loss." - Jo Kukathas

"If you can laugh about grief, then you can accept grief." - Kuah Jenhan

I was really moved by their conversion and engagement with the audience. In the closing question, I took the mic and asked:

"We grieve for others but do we grieve for ourselves...?"

Which the audience resonated and I'm truly touched by the response Jo & Jenhan, and others who followed up with me after the event.

Thank you so much everyone.
