Mei Kee & Aren.

This is so overdue btw. Mei Kee and I got to know each other while working for some church’s conference many years back. I still remember what MK shared with me regarding how God made this part of her wedding plans come to pass. She prayed that let it be a sign from God that I will be her AD photographer if we were to bump into each other. We really bumped into each other at Jewel Changi Airport, out of all places.

MK and Aren also had a similar ‘bumping’ experience in their relationship. She prayed for a sign and indeed, they bumped into each other outside Plaza Sing. I was so encouraged when she shared all these stories with me. God doesn’t work by coincidence.

How I wish we can have ‘air-con’ weather almost everyday in Singapore. Well, not everyday cause… still need to dry our clothes. The photoshoot with YJ and WC at GBTB was such a breeze despite the two places being pretty crowded.

The two of them being so spontaneous and always smiling at each other throughout the shoot. Another thing I really love was that she crocheted her own bouquet which was super pretty and definitely unique. I’ve tagged her account so you guys can go check out her works too.

They met each other at Obi’s brother’s wedding in Nigeria and that was how their relationship started. It was a really fun and chill prewedding shoot as they decided to go for a slightly formal one in their traditional outfit and another casual one at East Coast Park.

I think it’s always good to have a fun(ny) partner in a relationship. You get so many candid moments through the normal conversations during the photoshoot. As we wrapped up the shoot, Obi asked me this question in a pretty serious tone.

Hey Ben, I have a request.
Yea?
Can you make me white in the photos?
I just froze there for a while before he just laughed out loud.

Wan Yu & Heng Yi. I met them at another wedding where she was one of the bridesmaids. Back then, I was thinking that if I could document her wedding, it would be fun cause she laughs(and tears) very easily. (Yes, I don’t have high expectations.) Ended up having the honour of documenting their proposal, PWS and their wedding day.

Started off at Capitol, to Wesley Methodist, and we ended the night at Chijmes. Someone once said that if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. Really didn’t felt like I was working that day. Thank you both!

Celebrating R&E’s wedding. Was just planning to post this set of wedding photos and it happened that yesterday was their anniversary! Capella really has such beautiful views with their lush tropical landscape. I also think it’s pretty to have that outdoor solemnisation, especially if you have any fur babies. As I was choosing what photos to post, it still brings a smile to my face as I could (briefly) recall those moments or conversations in the photos that were captured.

Time really flies. Happy anniversary and may there be more milestones to celebrate!

Wedding of Bel and Lincoln. Just realised that time really flies. This was on my list of photos to post and I’ve just realised that their wedding was back in 2023. Super long overdue. One of the few couples that year who added elements of Pokémon to their wedding. It was also fun to see their guests trying to guess the answers for their kahoot games and getting excited as they see their names getting to the top 3 positions. One thing that I really love and appreciate is that I was also the photographer for a few of Bel’s friends/colleagues and they kept referring one another. Thank you so so much.

Closing this year with this post taken quite a while ago. It has been an interesting 2024. Especially with getting enquiries from travellers coming from different parts of the world. Here’s Sidd and Saisha flying in from London, for their post engagement shoot. Most of the shots were unscripted and I just love the first photo. If you’ve done a shoot with me, you’ll realised that I always prefer empty pockets and no bags. We were moving to another point when Saisha decided to drink straight from the bottle. That totally surprised Sidd and I. Rainy day just like today but I love the energy from the two of them.

I really want to thank all the couples, families, and friends that I’ve met along the year. Thank you for sharing your milestones and moments with me. Here’s to a brand new year ahead. 2025 will definitely be challenging but yet exciting. 🥂

Celebrating Renae and Teng Liang’s AD.

This was one wedding where I saw how the bridal party was so eager to go the extra mile for the couple. All the guests were seated and when it was about to start, the raindrops started falling fast. That evening’s weather kept teasing us with the on and off showers. Everyone rushed back in and Renae was pretty resigned to fate as she didn’t want to trouble her guests to move in and out. The bridal party ignoring the rain, shifted the flower arch and the deco indoors, only to have the rain stopped like 10 mins later. Knowing how much the couple wanted the outdoor solemnisation, the friends shifted all the deco out just so that Renae and Teng Liang could have their ideal outdoor solemnisation. Really GDLL. Thankfully, the rain resumed only right after the solemnisation ended.

After that, it was a night of celebrations with the bridal party dancing, Renae singing, and heartfelt messages from their friends and families. I actually waited for 1 year to post this because this was my first time having the groom changed into a Santa’s outfit and giving presents to the guests. So I wanted to post this nearer to Christmas and leading to the next point…

Some moments that I love from Bryant & Sheryl’s wedding. I’m actually hoping that Instagram will also allow me to post up to 20 photos per carousel but they always roll out these new features so slowly and randomly.

I can never not take photos of the couple’s dogs. Based on my experience, 1 out of 5 dogs might be aggressive but the rest are always so adorable. Udon(yup that’s the name) was twisting his body, probably craving for some scratches. Moving on to the humans, I love it when they don’t restrict themselves just because there’s a camera or there are lots of people watching them. Just like Sheryl grabbing Bryant when they were asked to kiss. I was genuinely surprised by it and I absolutely love that moment. Auntie just leaning onto uncle and laughing out loud, and ah ma smacking her forehead during one of the conversations at her table.

So couples who are getting married, remember to let loose and enjoy your wedding day. Let your siblings or bridal party handle the little tasks. After all, both of you have also paid a lot for this day.
