Photographing non-professional dancers has always had a special meaning to me, right from the moment we say hi, building their confidence and gaining their trust as the shoot progresses, then showing them the images, and seeing their reactions and wide grins when they realize that they DO look quite good actually! Working with kids and young adults isn't easy, but it is certainly very satisfying when I know I am creating images for them and their parents, something that will remain with them for a long time. Memories may fade but hopefully, the images will mean something special to the kids, that they loved to dance and it was a part of their lives, and I'm glad to have played a small role in that.
